For the past few years, home design has been all blues and greys in paint, furnishings, tiles and flooring. Today, styles are shifting once again. Warmer tones and natural wood accents are trending.

The interior designers at Daveron Design+ Build are experts at not only in the design of your project, but also in complete project management, ensuring the dream renovation you see in your mind is realized in your home. When Lauryn Zevnik thought about her new kitchen, she had just one word in mind.

“I wanted sexy,” says Lauryn. “I wanted a sexy kitchen that was modern, but with a different twist. I envisioned some warm touches that made a statement. I love to cook, entertain and have friends and family gathered around the kitchen. This renovation needed to reflect all of that.”

Can a homeowner ask so much of a kitchen renovation? The answer is, yes—when designers Sarah Simpson and Katie Capek and the Daveron Design + Build construction crew are in control.

When Lauryn and her husband, Nick, bought their house in Concord last fall, Lauryn knew just who to call to help her strike that perfect balance between modern chic and warm and cozy.

“I’m a hairstylist and Sarah is my client,” says Lauryn. “I’ve seen pictures of her work and listened to her talk about how she and Katie approach a project. I knew that when we were ready for a renovation, Sarah would be my first call.”

That’s how it all starts. One phone call to Daveron Design + Build and the planning is put in motion.

“We begin with a client interview to understand the scope of your project and talk about budget,” says Sarah. “We never want to introduce something that’s going to be uncomfortable financially. No one is happy when feeling that pressure. Knowing the budget up front allows us to focus on the best options for you within that budget and get creative on where to spend for the most impact.”

Sarah and Katie come to your house, take pictures and measurements, and start on the design. A 3D rendering of your project gives a true visual of the design and allows you to make changes.

“This is a comprehensive proposal,” says Katie. “It includes labor, materials, a design board, everything the client needs to envision the final outcome, and cost. Any project can be overwhelming. Our goal is to simplify, lessen your stress and make it enjoyable.”

Lauryn admits she was not very knowledgeable when it came to making choices for the kitchen renovation, although she knew what she liked.

Nick and Lauryn Zevnik, with their son, Mateo, are enjoying their new kitchen and already dreaming about their next renovation project—bathrooms.

“I would show them pictures and they would tell me I could do it, or show me similar options within the budget,” says Lauryn. “It made the process fun. And they had great ideas.”

A wood range hood and wood beam, Amish-crafted and provided by Daveron’s sister company, Pleasant Valley Woodworking, were touches Katie and Sarah included to get a custom look while keeping costs in check.

“The beam was load bearing,” says Sarah. “So instead of covering it with drywall, we offered the option of a wood beam to tie in with the custom hood, adding another warm accent.”

Lauryn says that the actual process, from demolition to finished product, was actually enjoyable.

“The crew, Dave, John and Christian, were wonderful,” says Lauryn. “The whole space was kept spotless and we always had a functioning kitchen. We have a 1-year-old, Mateo, and I needed to be able to cook. For our first remodeling experience, it was amazing.”

Through the app, Co-Construct, homeowners can see the project progress, including financials.

“Clients can also message us any time,” says Katie. “Everyone on the project uses the app. It’s a great tool.”
