When imagining your dream kitchen, it is hard not to get caught up in all the bells and whistles you see splashed across the pages of home magazines and social media posts. Stunning fixtures in shades of champagne gold. Open shelving with neatly arranged glasses and bowls. Vintage-designed ovens not covered in stainless steel but rather flaunting white or black again, or even more bold red and blue colors.

Though all these design elements are fun to pick out, Kaye Construction always stresses form follows function in all its remodels. And you don’t have to add square footage to your kitchen to make it flow better and work better for your lifestyle.

“Function always comes first in all our home remodels, then we add the esthetics and bling,” says Josh Kaye, who along with brother Joe and father Ron, owns this local remodeling company. “Our goal is to make your home work for you and have the best flow.”

At Kaye Construction, the father-and-sons team helps homeowners find their own style, mixing some elements that are on-trend with classic styles for a renewed, timeless home.

Dream Kitchen
Kaye Construction just finished a kitchen renovation in Strongsville this summer, with the kitchen island as the centerpiece.

The 10-piece island has a built-in stovetop and custom accessories, including a Kitchen-Aid lift and two spice racks contained within the 8-foot island. The painted shale gray cabinets are complemented by light-colored engineered hardwood floors underneath and topped with black granite countertops.

“We really opened up the kitchen by taking down three walls and installing a huge picture window to let the natural sunlight flood the room,” notes Josh.

Kaye Construction’s focus is not just to beautify homes but also to make them more functional by changing the footprint and flow, as well as providing a good return on investment.

“We can remove walls between rooms to create an open concept,” says Josh. “While taking down walls to make your rooms open to each other may not actually increase your footprint, you will gain more usable space and it will appear larger.”

“We can move your stove and refrigerator and reconfigure the space so you can add more cabinets,” he says. “Not only will this make the house feel bigger, but it also improves the flow.”

The skilled contractors at Kaye Construction handle everything from the flooring up to the lighting and everything in between, including cabinets, countertops and backsplashes.

Quality Cabinetry
As a local, family-owned business, Kaye Construction likes to support other family businesses and is proud to offer products made in the USA. It has teamed up with Crystal Cabinet Works, a Minnesota-based cabinet company, to offer semi-custom cabinets in dozens of wood options and colors, which are ideal when remodeling kitchens and bathrooms.

Makers of fine custom cabinets since 1947, the cabinetmaker offers functional and stylish cabinets. Available in 25 door styles, there are five wood varieties ranging from alder to cherry, hickory, maple and red oak—each with its own stain color options.

“These cabinets are semi-custom so they are affordable but still customizable,” says Josh.

Kaye Construction’s focus is not just to beautify homes but also to make them more functional by changing the footprint and flow, as well as providing a good return on investment.

“Our clients love being able to pick out styles and colors on the company’s website, which has lots of design inspiration showcased in its photo gallery, and then actually see the cabinet doors and colors in our new design center. When you feel the actual cabinet doors, you can see they are high quality and crafted with care.”

The stains and paints feature an oven-cured, catalyzed conversion varnish topcoat for added durability.

And More
In addition to specializing in kitchen remodels, Kaye Construction is well-versed in home additions, basement refinishing, master bedroom and en suite renovations, as well as outdoor decks and living spaces.

A family-owned business, you will find Ron, Josh and Joe working together on every project. This no-frills company relies on a strong work ethic and practical know-how from more than a quarter century of experience.

“Unlike bigger home improvement companies, where you never meet the owners, we oversee each job personally and work alongside our tradesmen,” says Ron, who founded the company three decades ago. He is passing along his skills and work ethic to his sons, who he jokingly says were born with a hammer in one hand and a screwdriver in the other.

“We have earned a five-star Google rating and are accredited with the Better Business Bureau, so you can put your trust in us,” adds Josh. “Let our family help yours with your next home renovation.”
