Reminiscent of a European café, La Crepe Bakery & Café invites you to come in and linger with friends and family—whether enjoying a meal or just stopping by for coffee and dessert.

Olena Firman and Mariia Grygorchuk opened this quaint eatery specializing in crepes two years ago, elevating the delectable European staple to the status it deserves.

“I grew up in Ukraine, where I cooked crepes every day, and I traveled around to many other European countries where they are commonplace,” says Olena. “In our café, there is a distinctly French influence, as we use the French method when making the batter from scratch.”

The basic ingredients (flour, egg, milk) mingle with sugar and cream to make sweet crepes or a pinch of pepper, garlic powder or dried parsley to make savory ones.

“Crepes are ideal any time of the day,” says Mariia. “We have a nice selection of both savory and sweet crepes on our menu.”

One of the lunch and dinner favorites is the Creamy Mushroom crepe, which is made with regular and shiitake mushrooms, cheddar cheese, white wine and sautéed onions. The Ham and Brie and Roasted Chicken crepes are very popular. For that something different, try the Squid Ink Smoked Salmon black crepe with cream cheese. It’s garnished with red caviar.

For the ultimate treat, the sweet crepes, which can be filled with peanut butter, fruit or pastry crème, are garnished with whipped cream, powdered sugar and various sauces.

In addition to crepes, the café serves paninis, breakfast sandwiches, soups and other gourmet pastries. For a heartier meal, there are Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork paninis on the menu.

“We also have an extensive coffee and tea menu to complement our cuisine,” says Mariia, noting that she has traveled to London, Paris and Scotland learning from baristas how to make the perfect cup of coffee and tea, and completed her barista courses in Kiev, Ukraine.
