Unique Live Edge Tables offers custom homefurnishings to suit any decorating style.

Handcrafted by Unique Live Edge Tables, these custom live-edge tables highlight the distinctive grain, texture and beauty found in every slab of wood.

Are you in the market for a one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality piece of furniture for your home? Live-edge furniture checks those boxes and so many more. How about a custom-sized table, bed frame, bar top or a whimsical conversation piece like a dog bed? Something durable for daily use like a dining or coffee table, desk or bunk beds for the kids? A custom-made piece always makes a thoughtful wedding gift.

If beauty, durability, customization and versatility are what you’re looking for, John Fisher, owner and craftsman at Unique Live Edge Tables, is the man you need to meet.

“People often think live edge means lake home or rustic décor,” says John. “The truth is, there’s a cut and finish to fit every style, from traditional to farmhouse, mid-century modern and industrial. The raw, irregular, no-piece-is-ever-the-same nature of live edge furniture is an eye-catching contrast to the clean, sharp lines of a modern room design. It grounds any space it’s in.”

John and his brother Marvin grew up in the family logging business, learning everything about wood. When they got older, they became interested in creating live-edge tables and learned to appreciate the beauty and creativity involved with this art.

“We have a wide variety of slabs to choose from right here in the studio and encourage customers to stop in with a photo or simply a vision,” says John. “Together we’ll create your dream piece.”

John is particularly proud of a sofa table he recently made from quilted redwood.

“I believe it’s the nicest piece we’ve ever done,” he notes. “Redwoods are the largest, tallest trees on earth, making them very versatile, and the striking coloring and natural resistance to the elements make it a natural for furniture.”

John says live-edge furniture can be used outdoors if properly prepared and sealed.

“Live-edge dining or side tables are practical additions to outdoor living spaces,” says John. “After all, they are trees.”
