Amy answers

Answering the calls of buyers and sellers across the area is just one of the ways Amy Hoes, of Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty, is making a difference.

If you’re looking for a career with long-term potential, you may want to avoid selling real estate. According to Investopedia, 87% of newly licensed real estate agents will fail within their first five years.

This statistic makes Amy Hoes and her Medina-based team Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty all the more impressive. Not only does the team continue to grow, up to nearly 40 agents, but its sales numbers are formidable as well. The group is in the top 1/2% of all agent teams in the country, selling 450 homes in 2025 and already on track to exceed that number this year.

With every home sale or purchase, the team lives up to its buzzwords of “personal service and modern systems with proven results.”

Succeeding Where Others Fail

Amy attributes her team’s smashing success to three factors: mentorship, technology and marketing.

“We work with new agents on our team, so they feel comfortable with how we curate the best client experience at every step of the home-selling and buying process,” she says. “And eXp Realty’s cloud-based business model, with a fast-paced digital environment, takes streamlined operations to the next level. When it comes to marketing, exposing a home in the broadest way online, we are second to none. Some of the old-school brick-and-mortar firms actually restrict a home’s online exposure, which doesn’t make sense to us.”

Amy credits longevity and experience for making her team a magnet for clients looking for a smooth, stress-free experience.

“We take away any worry a homeowner may have about their deal,” she says. “We’ve seen it all and done it all, and that’s a comfort to our clients to know there isn’t anything transactionally we haven’t already had experience with.”

Local Market Update

Amy’s husband Kurt manages and studies the numbers while she and her team are out building relationships and closing deals. Thanks to eXp, they both interact with agents across the country for guidance in helping predict market conditions.

“Collaboration with mega-teams selling thousands of homes per year has been a real asset for us,” says Kurt.

He reports that Medina’s homes have held their value well and sales have been strong. The average time a home stays on the market with Amy’s team is holding at 30 days, versus the MLS average of 59 days.

“I would say the market has slightly shifted from a sellers’ market to a more neutral one,” says Amy. “Our inventory is still low, and we expect more people looking to move during summer. The sooner your house comes to market, the better its chances of selling become.”

For the rest of 2026, she feels interest rates will remain in the sixes, maybe dropping to the high fives, which would unlock inventory and move the needle for those thinking about moving.

“Increased competition makes negotiation even more powerful in this market,” she says. “A home must be priced just right and marketed to sell for the most money in the least amount of time.”

Lastly, Kurt adds that one of Amy’s personal goals is to continue to work directly and closely with clients. “When you call, Amy answers,” he says. “She comes to your home and personally handles every aspect of the transaction.”

Florida Investment Property

When Realtor Amy Hoes and her husband Kurt’s 20-year-old son Bryan moved to Southwest Florida last year to open his own sign company, they began popping down to visit him regularly. It didn’t take long for them to realize what a real estate investment mecca the area has become.

“Anyone looking to invest in a second home will find a lot of opportunities to make a smart decision around the Naples and Marco Island areas,” she says. “Maybe you want to rent it out and only vacation there a couple weeks a year until you retire. Or maybe you work from home or are retired and want to spend winters or all year down in the sunshine.”

She adds that though they are renting a condo now, they’re looking to invest in their own home there soon.

“We’ve already helped lots of folks get a great deal on their dream home in Florida,” she says. “This premier market has a strong rental income potential. People flock to the amenities like golf and amazing beaches, restaurants and night life. Clients have put their trust in us to help guide them through a home search.
