The team at Bennett Family Dental makes it a point to ensure everyone feels at home.

The four long-time hygienists at Bennett Family Dental are a lively group of ladies who love their jobs and it shows. They enjoy connecting with patients to make them feel comfortable and seen.

The staff at Bennett Family Dental puts the passion in compassion.

Over the past year, we’ve spotlighted Dr. Jamie Bennett and his associate dentists Dr. Katelyn Kosileski and Dr. Mansukh Dhillon at their two Westlake offices.

Now it’s time to profile the seasoned team of hygienists.

“For the majority of patients, the Bennett Family Dental experience starts and ends with the registered dental hygienist,” says Dr. Jamie. “We believe it’s fundamental to the success of our offices to build quality relationships between our providers and patients. We approach patients within our preventive maintenance program with empathy, education, competence and our consistently highly rated care.”

MJ

With 39 years in the field and 23 years as a clinical instructor at Lorain County Community College, MJ brings a wealth of experience and talent for educating patients about their dental care.

“Promoting positive health care through one-on-one interactions is what I like best about my job,” she says.

This single mom to a grown son enjoys cross training, theater, fine dining and vacationing anywhere sunny.

Health Tip: Coming back to the dentist every six months is important when it comes to preventing problems and treating them before they snowball into something worse.

Kris

With 34 years of experience, Kris finds it rewarding to educate patients about how their dental health is connected to their overall health.

“I tell patients that since we are located in what was once a home, when they come to the office, they should feel like they’re at home,” she says. “I have a knack for explaining things in a way everyone can understand. I bring a sense of comfort to the experience.”

Health Tip: Make daily flossing and brushing a routine habit.

Joann

This Bennett Family Dental veteran of 19 years began as the dental assistant to Dr. Jamie’s dad, who encouraged her to go to dental hygiene school.

“The culture here is very family-oriented,” she says. “Every day is different with patients coming and going from my chair. I like to make them feel welcome and understand their care.”

She enjoys reading, exercising and hanging out with her husband, 13-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, as well as her dog.

Health Tip: Floss daily. Only about 20% of patients are flossers, which is bad since food turns into plaque between teeth.

Loxi

Since Loxi’s siblings are all in health care, too, she considers her job all in the family. She’s been a hygienist for more than 30 years. This self-described “people person” enjoys building a rapport with each patient.

“Our practice has a special quality. You feel it when you walk through the door. We treat each other—and our patients—like family,” she says.

She met her husband in eighth grade and enjoys spending time with their two daughters, son and three adorable granddaughters. Loxi also loves cooking, shopping and spending time with her 92-year-old mother.

Health Tip: Brushing and flossing before bedtime is especially important for dental health. If you go to bed with grilled cheese in your teeth, it’s going to speed up tooth decay and gum disease.
