The future of showroom shopping is here!

The grand opening of the Window & Bath Expo 24-hour showroom means you can shop anytime—day or night—without a salesperson present. Here’s how to enter the showroom and take the self-guided tour at your own pace, with no pressure.

How many times have we walked into a store and a salesperson asks, “May I help you?” and we reply, “No, thank you. I’m just looking.”

How many times has a salesperson working on commission kept an eye on us as we shop, hoping to make a sale?

Sometimes we just want to shop—by ourselves, at our leisure, with no one looking over our shoulders and with no pressure. We experience this when we shop online, browsing inventory peacefully and at our own pace.

Now that kind of leisurely shopping can happen in a real brick-and-mortar store and in an industry known for high-pressure sales: bathroom remodeling.

It’s called “The 24-hour showroom,” the brainchild of Window & Bath Expo founder Tony Hoty. No greeter. No salesperson. In fact, no staff at all. The showroom is empty.

Except for you.

“People love it, and they’ve been asking for it for years,” Tony says. “You have full access to the showroom anytime, day or night. You shop at your own pace, without any pressure.”

How It Works

When you arrive at the Window & Bath Expo showroom on Mentor Avenue, simply send a text message for an instant access code Enter the code on the keypad at the door, and voilá, you’re inside the showroom.

“We have about a dozen bathroom vignettes that showcase the many styles of bathrooms we can create,” Tony says. “These include options like shower doors, faucets, showerheads, seating and more. It’s a hands-on experience. Customers like opening and closing the shower doors, feeling the quality of the wall panels, stepping inside the shower to get a better sense of its size, and experiencing the slip-resistant shower bases.”

Each vignette includes a QR code that explains the features and offers an audio recording option. Move through the self-guided tour at your own pace. Most people complete the tour in 15-20 minutes. For security, the facility is monitored by video.

Bath Expo 24-hour showrooms have been popular in other parts of Northeast Ohio for about a year, and the grand opening of the Mentor location is going on now. Tony says there is no single type of customer who enjoys shopping this way. Customers have ranged from young couples pushing strollers to seniors in their 70s and 80s.

“Exploring options at your own pace and with no pressure is not a generational thing,” Tony adds. “Everyone likes it, no matter who you are.”

During the tour, you learn much of the same information you would if a salesperson were in your home, but this way you can decide if you want to proceed with an estimate for your project with no pressure or obligation.

Installation in a Day and a Half

If you decide to move forward with your project, you’ll receive a guaranteed installation date. When that day arrives, Bath Expo can complete your project quickly—in as little as a day and a half for a walk-in shower and three to four days for a complete remodel without altering the existing footprint.

It’s fast because the company’s factory-trained and certified technicians use modern, grout-less panels—not stone or ceramic tile. “The technology has improved so much over the years,” Tony says. “These durable, solid-surface panels won’t dent, stain, warp or chip. They’re infused with an antimicrobial agent and other solid-surface materials that inhibit mold and mildew. You’ll hardly notice they’re not tile until it’s time to clean them. Just wipe them down. No more scrubbing grout with a brush.”

The company also offers sinks and vanities, as well as full remodels with options for bathtubs, cabinets, countertops, flooring, commodes, mirrors, lighting and more. All projects come with a lifetime warranty.

Windows and Doors, Too

Window Expo offers popular brands of windows, entry doors and patio doors in a wide variety of styles, colors and materials, including vinyl, composite, fiberglass and real wood. “We don’t limit our customers by offering only one brand of product,” Tony says. “We’re not tied to any single manufacturer. That means we can offer different brands that best fit each customer’s unique home, taste and budget.”
