Kaye Construction can make your remodel do more. Here’s how.

Living by Aristotle’s philosophy that that whole is greater than the sum of its parts, Kaye Construction renovates rooms that seamlessly enhance your home’s overall esthetic and functionality.

“When remodeling individual rooms, we always try to incorporate some of the existing character of the home, but refresh and enhance it,” says Josh Kaye, who along with his brother Joe and father Ron, owns Kaye Construction. “It’s fun when designing new parts of the house to keep the character of the home while refreshing and enhancing it for a brand-new look.”

Kitchen + Living Room

Take, for example, a recent renovation in Strongsville, where the focus was on redesigning the kitchen. Kaye Construction also added small touches to the adjoining family room so the new look would all tie together.

“We enhanced the existing stone fireplace by updating the mantel and installing shiplap on the wall behind it, as well as adding under-cabinet lighting,” Josh says.

The focus, however, is the new kitchen, with its beautiful knotty alder base cabinets with a hickory stain mixed with white upper cabinets for an on-trend but classic look.

While the footprint of the kitchen did not change, the contractors removed the soffits so they could install taller cabinets for extra storage. They also built a bigger pantry.

“We installed base cabinets with rollout shelves to improve the functionality,” Josh notes. “In addition to putting the garbage can in a pullout drawer and hiding countertop appliances in a cubby, custom cabinetry does so much more to help streamline a kitchen.”

For that extra wow factor in this kitchen, Kaye used matte white hexagon tiles with gray grout for the backsplash to pull the new look all together.

For every remodeling job, Kaye helps homeowners find their own style, mixing some elements that are on-trend with classic styles for a renewed, timeless home.

Home Addition + Kitchen

Another of the company’s recent renovations encompassed building both an addition and new kitchen in a West Park home.

“The homeowners wanted a bigger kitchen and more of an open concept,” Josh says. “We built a 22-by-20-foot addition on the back of the house that allowed us to expand the kitchen as well as add a cozy seating area and space for a future bathroom. Plus, we added lots of windows and a sliding glass door to let more natural light in.”

The centerpiece of the kitchen is a custom-built, 10-foot island painted in a dark blue color mixed with contrasting crisp white cabinetry around the perimeter of the kitchen.

“Cabinet manufacturers are offering more painted cabinets in hues of blue and green that add more personality to a space,” Josh notes. “If you are not ready to dive into more bold colors and darker woods, try mixing neutral colors or wood stains.

In addition to installing new cabinetry, Kaye also built a walk-in pantry with a bi-fold barn door. It’s the company’s goal to make every remodel as functional as it is beautiful.

Outside, Kaye matched the home’s existing aluminum siding color but clad the addition in vinyl siding, which requires less maintenance.

Indoors + Outdoors

In addition to specializing in kitchens, master bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms and home additions, the company is known for constructing decks that extend outdoor living.

“When looking to add more livable space to your house, look out front and back,” Josh says.

“We can build a deck in your back yard or a front porch to give your family more usable living space.”

At Kaye Construction, Josh, Joe and Ron are all experienced remodelers and handle everything from the ground up. And while they are well versed in the latest trends, their goal is to make every space timeless.

“You will find the three of us working side by side on every project,” Josh says. “Unlike bigger home improvement companies, where you never meet the owners, we oversee each job personally.”

“We are looking to build long-term relationships with our clients,” Josh says, noting repeat business is a cornerstone of the company’s success. “If you are thinking about remodeling this year, now is the time to contact us to start working on the design so we are ready when the weather breaks and you can get on our schedule this summer.”
