Helping families find peace

What’s meant to be a joyful time of connecting with family and friends, caring for an aging relative can bring stress, fatigue and emotional strain.

A family sits at a wooden dining table in a cozy, decorated kitchen, enjoying a holiday meal together.

Balancing your festive traditions with caregiving responsibilities often requires extra care and support.

The holidays are a wonderful time of year but they can also be a particularly complex and emotional time for families caring for an elderly loved one. What’s meant to be a joyful time of connecting with family and friends, caring for an aging relative can bring stress, fatigue and emotional strain. Balancing your festive traditions with caregiving responsibilities often requires extra care and support.

Gardens of Western Reserve Home Care & Hospice has been providing just that for families with the core belief that true care begins and ends at home, because every family’s and every person’s needs are unique and deserve to be addressed individually.

With combined experience of more than 60 years in senior care and hospice, co-founders, Hanna Schindley, Rich Piekarski and Rich’s son, Richie, have learned that the most meaningful, in-home and hospice care also addresses the emotional, social and spiritual needs of both the individual receiving care and their loved ones.

“We are dedicated to being a steady presence, helping families find peace in difficult moments,” Hanna says. “What makes us different is our full-circle approach. Beyond physical comfort, we provide emotional support, grief care, and spiritual guidance to both patient and their loved ones. The holiday season is a good time to start with just a few hours of help.”

With just one phone call, Gardens of the Western Reserve can step in and help with everything from administering medications and daily chores and activities to monitoring health conditions and hospice services.

“No one should feel alone or vulnerable in their home,” Hanna says. “We walk with individuals and families through life’s tender moments with compassion, care and dignity.”
