Function, form and flow

You don’t have to add square footage to enjoy a better flow in the kitchen. Kaye Construction can show you how.

Kaye Construction recently teamed up with Crystal Cabinet Works to offer clients an affordable semi-custom cabinet option.

As a local, family-owned business, Kaye Construction likes to support other family businesses and is proud to offer products made in the USA. Most recently, it has teamed up with Crystal Cabinet Works, a Minnesota-based cabinet company, to offer semi-custom cabinets in dozens of wood options and colors, which are ideal when remodeling kitchens and bathrooms.

Makers of fine custom cabinets since 1947, the cabinetmaker offers functional and stylish cabinets. Available in 25 door styles, there are five wood varieties ranging from alder to cherry, hickory, maple and red oak—each with its own stain color options.

“These cabinets are semi-custom, so they are affordable yet still customizable,” says Josh Kaye, who, along with his brother Joe and father Ron, owns Kaye Construction.

“Our clients love being able to pick out styles and colors on the company’s website, which has lots of design inspiration showcased in its photo gallery, and then actually see the cabinet doors and colors in our new design center. When you feel the actual cabinet doors, you can see they are high-quality and crafted with care.”

The stains and paints feature an oven-cured, catalyzed conversion varnish topcoat for added durability.

At Kaye Construction, the father-and-sons team helps homeowners find their own styles, mixing some elements that are on-trend with classic styles for renewed, timeless homes.

This month, Kaye Construction is finishing a kitchen renovation in Strongsville—with the kitchen island as the centerpiece.

The 10-piece island has a built-in stovetop and custom accessories, including a KitchenAid lift and two spice racks, contained within the 8-foot island. The painted shale gray cabinets are complemented by light-colored engineered hardwood floors underneath and black granite countertops.

“We really opened up the kitchen by taking down three walls and installing a huge picture window,” notes Josh.

Kaye Construction’s goal is to not just beautify homes but to also make them more functional by changing the footprint and flow, as well as provide a good return on investment.

“We can remove walls between rooms to create an open concept,” says Josh. “While taking down walls to make your rooms open to each other may not actually increase your footprint, you will gain more usable space.”

“We can move your stove and refrigerator and reconfigure the space so you can add more cabinets,” he says. “Not only will this make the house feel bigger, but it also improves the flow.”

Kaye Construction can handle everything from the flooring up to the lighting and everything in between, including cabinets, countertops and backsplashes. A two-generation business, you will find Ron, Josh and Joe working together on every project.

In addition to specializing in kitchen remodeling, the company is well-versed in home additions, basement refinishing, master bedroom and en suite renovations, as well as decks and outdoor living spaces.

“Unlike bigger home improvement companies where you never meet the owners, we oversee each job personally and work alongside our tradesmen,” says Ron. “We are proud to be locally owned and family-operated.”
