Whether you’re a seasoned contractor or DIY-er, the newly opened Floor Trader of Lake County has aisles of warehouse-priced, in-stock flooring right now, and the tools and materials for installation on any job.

“Our tagline is ‘flooring that works as hard as you do,’” says Shawn Rosa, who, along with his wife Monica, is the Director of Operations. “Even though we’ve just opened, the response has been amazing. People have been waiting for a large-scale flooring outlet.”

Though both are owned by the Guhde family, which has been a mainstay in the flooring business locally since the 1950s, and are part of the same global buying co-op, Floor Trader and Guhde Flooring America are two distinct business models. The owners wanted to make the differences easy for people, so they came up with the chart shown here.

At Floor Trader of Lake County, you’ll discover over 125,000 square-feet of in-stock flooring, all conveniently housed in its 10,000-square-foot warehouse. All the big brands are here—from luxury vinyl tile and plank to laminates, hardwoods, porcelain and ceramic tiles, carpeting and remnants with names like Mohawk, Shaw, COREtec, Emser, Pergo and Engineered Floors.

“Before we opened our doors, we were meeting with contractors to discover the best tools they would use on any job so we could bring them in,” says Monica. “And our sales lead, Don Sharpnack, is also an invaluable resource, having spent decades in construction and remodeling.”

What Contractors are Saying

The ability to shop from a huge selection at warehouse pricing and confidently send their clients to pick out selections makes a big difference to the bottom line—and ultimate success—of local contractors. To Ryan Green, who has owned Final Touch Flooring for the past 30 years, the relationship with Shawn and Monica has been integral to his growth.

“Both Shawn and Monica possess a wealth of product knowledge and expertise,” he says. “They only sell current styles that are in demand with my clients. They are easy to talk to and extremely professional. With decades of experience, they’ve earned a reputation for honesty and transparency in this town for good reason.”

Another plus is convenience. Ryan says if he is on a job and unexpectedly needs more product or a specific tool, he can pop in and grab them at Floor Trader.

“The big-box stores don’t even carry much in the way of tools or supplies anymore,” he adds. “Shawn stocks absolutely everything needed for a job, from items like hooks and scrapers and seam tape to knee pads.”

Stop in today and discover the savings.
