Crafting memories

Unique Live Edge Tables specializes in creating one-of-a-kind family heirlooms that make making memories more meaningful.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

Quality custom-made live-edge furniture will stand the test of time. Unique Live Edge Tables specializes in the memories its craft will hold—and the holidays will be here before you know it.

When it comes to home furnishings, John Fisher, owner of Unique Live Edge Tables in Chesterland, knows all about quality, durability and longevity. He also knows what it means to families when they have a piece of furniture that lasts for generations, is passed down to children and grandchildren, and evokes memories of times spent with loved ones.

“Maybe it’s the table everyone gathered around every Thanksgiving, Christmas and family birthday celebration. Or the chairs you and your dad always sat in to watch your favorite teams play,” says John. “Whatever that special piece is for your family, well-made, quality furniture helps create memories that will stand the test of time. At Unique Live Edge Tables, we specialize in memories.”

Along with the custom-made live-edge furniture John crafts from fallen trees harvested through his logging business, as well as other specialty wood pieces sourced locally, he now offers a selection of durable poly furniture.

“Many pieces within our line of poly furniture are now available right here in the store, but you can also custom order from the catalog,” says John. “This is weatherproof, outdoor furniture that comes with a lifetime warranty—and is virtually indestructible.”

John adds that your imagination can’t even dream up the custom options available. Sports teams, professional and college, holiday and patriotic themes, and every color imaginable and more are all possible.

Talk about making memories. Nothing creates a warm, inviting space to gather around for late-night laughter and conversation more than a fire table. You’ll find poly fire tables at Unique Live Edge, too.

“Our propane poly fire tables are functional, convenient and available in several styles to fit virtually any outdoor aesthetic,” says John. “They last forever and you don’t have to worry about them being battered and abused by the weather. If they are, they’ll never show it.”

When you finally head back indoors, don’t forget that John can create the piece of your holiday and everyday dreams. From a table of any size and function to wine racks, light fixtures, charcuterie boards, bar tops and more, John creates it especially for you, or to give as a gift.

Visit Unique Live Edge Tables and peruse the tables in stock. See anything you like? If not, just pick one out from the many, many raw wood slabs lining the walls, sit down with John, and let him guide you through the process that leads to your custom family heirloom.

“This is my favorite part of this journey,” says John. “I love when customers come in with a picture, some measurements or just an idea, and we go through the options together. I see the excitement build when they imagine the final product. And then when they do, it’s even more than they ever thought possible. Now that’s a good feeling.”

And don’t worry about live-edge fitting into your décor. No matter the style of your home, John can finish the edges to formalize the look or leave them raw for a more rustic feel. It’s all up to you.

“I can test stains on the slab so you can see how the wood takes the stain and show you photos of different edging styles and contouring,” says John. “I can also fill holes in the wood with any colored resin for a unique look. Between live edge and now our poly products, there are no limits to what we can do to help your family make memories that will last forever.”
