Low prices, high quality and a lifetime of flooring industry experience to guide you. You’ll find all that and more at Floor Trader of Lake County

Shawn and Monica Rosa have more than 50 years of combined experience in the flooring industry and if they’ve learned anything—and they’ve learned a lot—it’s that knowledge is power.

For a large selection of in-stock luxury vinyl plank (LVP), carpet, tile and hardwood flooring from trusted brands, plus the tools necessary for installation—including Schluter waterproofing systems—Floor Trader has the products and the know-how to help you realize your vision. You can walk out with your flooring and installation supplies and get started today, or Shawn and Monica will refer you to a reliable installer.

“Monica and I have spent our careers in the flooring industry,” Shawn says. “We knew we could offer customers the best overall experience by focusing solely on the products.”

Monica’s family dreamed of having a family-owned flooring business where homeowners, contractors and DIYers could come in and be confident of a quality selection of materials supported by the knowledge and expertise of the owners.

“We’re here every day talking to people and guiding them through their projects,” Monica says. “We love the customer experience without the worry of installation and loss of control of the overall quality of the project. We are confident in the installers we recommend, but our focus is solely on the products we sell.”

Monica and Shawn have seen many flooring customers through the years who head to the big-box stores for a good deal only to be disappointed in their in-store experience and the final product.

“We want to shout from the rooftops that although it might be cheaper in cost, it’s often cheap in quality,” Shawn says. “Monica and I know the industry. We’ve stocked quality products and offer clearance materials. And if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we’ll special-order it.”

The Floor Trader Advantage

As a family-owned, community-focused business, Floor Trader thinks beyond volume and focuses on your project. And when you have questions, they have answers.

Shawn tells the story of a contractor telling him Floor Trader was selling a similar big-box product at a higher price. He met his match with Shawn.

“I found that it was an inferior product and was able to offer him another quality option at the same price.” Shawn says. “It’s not about ‘gotcha.’ It’s about having the experience to know the difference and still offer quality products for less.”

You can wander around the big-box stores, try to find someone to help, ask questions they don’t have the answers to—or you can come to Floor Trader. Shawn says he’ll likely ask more questions than you will.

“‘What room is the product for?, LVP vs. laminate or hardwood? Do you have pets? High foot traffic? Room shape and dimensions?’ The answers point to the best product for you,” Shawn says. “That’s our difference.”

Big-box stores often sell products made specifically for them that are of lower quality or somehow flawed and can’t be sold elsewhere.

“We can glance at a product and know the quality,” Monica says. “Occupational hazard? Maybe, but it’s an advantage for you. We simply won’t sell an inferior-quality product.”
