Beyond the outlet

Streb Electric takes its services far beyond the simple household outlet. Here’s how it’s lighting up lives across Northeast Ohio.

It’s officially outdoor lighting season, and with today’s advancements in LED options, homeowners can elevate their nighttime game.

“We can design a lighting plan that adds sophistication and extends the use of your yard, whether for entertaining or just hanging out on a beautiful summer night,” says Ryan Streb, general manager of Streb Electric. “During a lighting consultation, we sit down with homeowners and pinpoint how they imagine using their space. In addition to getting more life from the yard, beautifully lit outdoor lightscapes also add value to your home when you go to sell.”

This time of year, the techs at Streb Electric are also busy servicing pools and backyard upgrades. From in-ground and above-ground pools to hot tubs and swim spas, these features require complex electrical infrastructure to operate at peak efficiency and safety.

“We’re making sure there is sufficient circuit capacity getting to heavy-duty equipment like the heater and filtration system,” he adds. “Hot tubs and spas often require new wiring and need to be integrated correctly into the home’s electrical system.”

Welcoming New Staff

Ryan reports to keep up with demand, they’ve recently hired several seasoned electricians.

“When we hire, we look beyond a candidate’s education and certifications,” he says. “We only want people who fit with the core values my family has stuck to for the past 50 years in business: honesty, respect, caring and hard work. We also make sure electricians spend time in the field shadowing another tech before going solo with their own truck.”

That commitment was on full display last month when severe wind and hailstorms left many homeowners dealing with power outages caused by fallen trees and debris.

“Our entire staff worked tirelessly in the field,” says Ryan. “We took every call and fixed the issues to restore power so our customers wouldn’t have to go to a hotel, even if that meant working 14-hour days and weekends.”

The Benefits of a Plan

A lot of the customers Ryan and his staff served during the storm crisis were already members of Streb Electric’s Safety & Savings Plan.

“We’ve always been about transparency in pricing and services to the customer,” says Ryan. “For a low fee of $16 per month, members receive discounts and savings, including lifetime warranties on installations and annual electrical safety inspections.”

Taking Your Ride Electric

As electric vehicles become more common, Streb Electric is also helping customers prepare for the future with professionally installed EV charging stations.

“A level two charger can dramatically reduce charging time compared to a standard outlet, making it much more convenient for daily use,” he explains. “Installation requires us to evaluate the home’s electrical panel to make sure it has the capacity for the additional load and make upgrades when needed. We make sure everything is installed to code and optimized for performance.”

Staying up to date on emerging technology like EV chargers is part of how Streb Electric has continued to stay current with the times over the decades.

They continually invest in advanced diagnostic equipment as it comes to the industry.

“My dad and my grandfather made it our company’s mission to show up and be there with solutions to whatever our customers need,” he says.

From illuminating outdoor living spaces to helping power the next gen of electric vehicles, Streb Electric continues to keep homeowners safe, comfortable and connected, no matter what the seasons bring.

Streb Electric is headquartered in Willoughby and serves homes and businesses throughout Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties.
