Ladies and gentlemen: Prepare for takeoff.

Overlooking Cleveland Hopkins Airport, Altitude rooftop bar at The Aviator Event Center & Pub is open for your cruising pleasure.

“There’s nothing else like the chill vibe here, where you can watch the 155-plus planes arrive and depart daily,” says General Manager Sierra Thomas. “We complement the laid-back lounge and table seating with DJs on Thursdays for dancing. With our Rockin’ the Runway concert series, we invite musical entertainment from local acts, both on the rooftop and patio courtyard bars. Look for Those Guys on Saturday, July 19, and Stan Davis on Sunday, July 20. For August dates, visit AviatorPubCleveland.com.”

Sensational Summery Dishes

Sierra says they curated the cream of the crop of crowd favorites from their regular menu for the special Altitude menu.

“One of our most popular dishes is the Island Ahi Bowl, with soy and sesame ahi tuna, white rice, pineapple, avocado, cucumber, yuzu mayo, charred scallion and wasabi,” she says. “It’s like the tropics in a bowl. People love to share the Ahi Tuna Nachos, too.”

Courtesy of a 500-degree pizza oven, the chefs have perfected seared flatbreads with dynamite toppings.

“Two flatbreads that have made it to the bestseller list are our Street Corn Shrimp version and the Hot Honey Chicken,” she says. “They are shareable and bursting with flavor.”

When it comes to refreshing cocktails, the wildly inventive barkeeps have put their signature spin on traditional sips. Don’t miss the Lavender Paloma, a breezy blend of lavender, grapefruit and tequila.

“Blueberry mojitos fly out of the bar on a warm day,” she says. “With ice cubes shaped like airplanes, what’s not to love?”

She notes that since a large screen streams Guardians games visible from all the seating areas, the rooftop has become a favorite haunt of sports fans.

“We also offer full cigar service, with massive selection of bourbons and scotches to pair it with,” she says. “When the evening winds down and there’s a chill in the air, we keep patrons warm and cozy with custom-made Aviator blankets to snuggle up in.”

Memorable Events Happen Here

Sierra reports The Aviator has become a go-to destination for indoor and outdoor private parties, corporate events, showers and weddings.

“You can book the entire rooftop if you choose,” she says. “We’ve thrown some amazing happy hour events for companies. It seats up to 150. And with a DJ and dancing, it also lends itself to rehearsal dinners and after-parties following weddings held here.”

The 6,000-square-foot ballroom can handle up to 350 people. Perfect for weddings, its grand style features a white marble dance floor beneath a custom crystal Italian chandelier. Another charming event space is Gabriella’s Room, with stone walls and rustic atmosphere that accommodates up to 120 people.

The Aviator Event Center & Pub is located at 20920 Brookpark Road in Cleveland next to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. For reservations or to schedule a tour, call 216-770-5300 or visit AviatorCLE.com.

Jack Frost Donut Month
