Where great style finds new life

Local Revue is giving luxury fashion an encore—with designer pieces worth loving all over again.

A stack of books sits on a wooden table, next to a lit candle and a warm cup of coffee or tea.

At Local Revue, you don’t have to hunt through racks of clothing. Instead, owner Denise Betz Toil offers a select assortment of women’s clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories in all sizes, creatively displayed. (Photography: Adrienne Rose)

When you walk into Local Revue, it feels like you have stepped into a very stylish boutique. Vogue posters line the wall. Valentino and Hermès books rest on a coffee table. Clothing is artfully arranged, vintage jewelry sparkles in displays and Ralph Lauren handbags mingle with other leather beauties. Only when you glance at the price tags do you realize you’re shopping consignment.

That elevated yet accessible experience is exactly what owner Denise Betz Toil set out to create: a luxury shopping atmosphere with affordable prices.

After years working at Ernst & Young and raising two children with her husband, this Bay Village resident returned to her lifelong passion for fashion. Her early retail experiences in high school and college, combined with an art history degree from Kent State University, laid the foundation. Years of professional and personal growth helped shape a boutique that blends a strong business sense with fashion-forward style.

Founded in 2024 in Bay Village, the luxury consignment boutique moved earlier this year into a larger space at Williamsburg Square Shopping Plaza in Westlake to accommodate its growing clientele and expanding inventory.

The women’s clothing selection is curated for both adults and teens, featuring a range of styles from classic, timeless pieces like a plaid leather handbag to more playful finds like cropped tops that appeal to younger shoppers.

“Whether you are refreshing your wardrobe for fall or searching for some unique vintage pieces, there’s always something new to discover,” Denise says.

Luxury Brands Made Accessible

You never know what you’ll find at Local Revue—from a Prada black tote and a Frye cognac leather boot to a Ralph Lauren silk maxi dress and a Burberry Brit black jacket with its iconic beige, black, red and white checkered tartan print lining.

The focus here? Accessible luxury.

“We carry luxury brands like Alexander McQueen, Golden Goose, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rag & Bone, Theory and Veronica Beard,” Denise says. “We also stock sought-after brands like Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Coach and UNOde50 silver jewelry.”

Everything is displayed more artistically in the store to make shopping fun.

“I designed the boutique to feel cozy and inviting—not overwhelming,” Denise says. “You don’t have to hunt through racks of clothing. Instead, we offer a select assortment of women’s clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories in all sizes creatively displayed so it’s easy to find something that speaks to you.”

“Right now we are bringing in fall styles, including sweaters, denims, jackets and boots,” she adds. “And we always have a great selection of handbags, from Coach, Tory Burch and Kate Spade to a huge selection of Anuschka floral purses. These colorful, hand-painted leather handbags are truly one of a kind.”

At its heart, Local Revue is about making shopping enjoyable and personal—something that can be rare in today’s retail landscape.

Coffee and tea are always available, and the staff is happy to help coordinate outfits or suggest styling ideas. Even better, shopping consignment is a sustainable choice that gives quality fashion a second life, helping reduce waste while allowing customers to score designer finds at exceptional prices. It’s a feel-good experience in more ways than one.

Shop from 2,000 Stylish Items

The store provides only a glimpse of Local Revue’s inventory. Nearly 2,000 additional items are available at LocalRevue.com, with new inventory added almost daily.

“If something catches your eye online, just call ahead and we’ll pull it from our warehouse in back so you can see it, feel it and try it on,” Denise says. “We only display a small portion of our inventory in the store, so shopping online gives you endless options.”

“We also can host private after-hours parties, where a group of friends can bring in wine and appetizers and have the entire store to themselves while we help them put together new outfits,” she adds. “Think girls’ night out meets mini fashion show.”

Regular store hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. After-hour parties are scheduled in the evenings.

“Our store is very warm and welcoming,” Denise says. “It is fashionable but feels approachable—and that’s what makes it such a wonderful shopping experience.”
