Understanding Medicare

Turning 65 is a milestone that can bring with it many feelings, including fear. Looming decisions about Medicare doesn’t have to be one of them.

“Medicare is a federally managed health care benefit for anyone turning 65 and anyone with a qualifying disability, even if they are not yet 65,” says Suzy. “If you’re turning 65, you can enroll from three months before your birth month until three months after without penalty.” Different enrollment rules may apply to those continuing to work on or beyond age 65.
