Selling Medina

The Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty has its finger on the pulse of the Medina real estate market—and beyond.

The expression “full steam ahead” accurately describes the dynamic, Medina-based Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty.

“Luckily, our team continues to grow to keep up with our business,” says team leader and industry veteran Amy Hoes. “We pick up an average of three to four new agents every month and have a dozen waiting to go through the interview process. We are picky when it comes to who we onboard.”

She says the new Showcase team members are coming from other local agencies or switching careers to take advantage of the tech-forward, cloud-based benefits of eXp Realty, which is the fastest-growing brokerage in the world.

One of her newest agents is her daughter Atalie, who has been coming along to open houses and showings and closings since she was 5 years old.

“This business is all I’ve ever known,” says Atalie. “It wasn’t a question of if I’d become a Realtor, but when. I wanted to pursue it in high school, but my parents encouraged me to begin college first, and I followed that path initially. So now the timing is perfect.”

Within days of getting her license, Atalie already sold her first home.

“What I like best about the job is the relationships you form with people, pinpointing their needs and guiding them through the process of one of the biggest purchases they’ll make in their lives,” she adds. “People are emotionally connected to their homes, and I appreciate how the buying and selling process can be stressful.”

Why Folks are Flocking to Medina

Amy has called Medina her hometown for about 20 years. She has a special appreciation and pride in how much the county has grown and evolved and why homes have steadily increased in value.

“Proximity is key,” she says. “We’re so convenient to get to Cleveland and Akron. I’d say pricing and cost of living are also important. Our tax rates and property taxes are lower than other counties. Nowadays, with more people working from home, they’re exploring what that can mean for their lifestyles. We know lots of friends who have moved to Medina from prohibitively expensive states like California.”

She says the local market would still be considered a seller’s market, but not as much as two years ago, when buyers were going into bidding wars and paying far over asking price.

“Home sales are moving swiftly as long as they are priced right in this market,” she says.

Expanding Down South

Atalie is not the only Hoes on the move. When Amy and her husband Kurt’s son Bryan moved to Marco Island to start an automotive signage business, they helped him move and along the way also fell in love with Southwest Florida.

Amy immersed herself in the wider geographic area and picked up her Florida license to help clients in Ohio make the wisest investments for second homes, retirement homes and places that will earn them money as rentals while they are in transition.

“Places like Marco Island and Naples are amazing investments. The population is growing and the laid-back environment and tropical climate of the area make it ideal,” she explains. “The dining and arts culture is vibrant. A steady influx of new residents has driven demand and property values. I can help evaluate properties that will deliver the most bang for the buck.”

Amy Hoes’ eXp Realty office is located in Medina. You can call or text Amy directly at 330-878-3643, email AmyHoes@gmail.com, or visit ShowcaseHomeGroup.com to find out more. Wonder what your home is worth in this market? Just give Amy’s team a call and someone will pop over to discuss its potential and give you a free market analysis.

Amy Hoes, real estate industry veteran welcomes Atalie with open arms to the Showcase Home Group at eXp Realty family.
