When the temperatures rise above 60 degrees, a Northeast Ohioan’s thoughts turn to long evenings on the deck enjoying time with family and friends. And with a deck revitalization, including minor repairs and a professional cleaning and staining, by Chagrin Home Improvements, you’ll be ready to fire up the grill and entertain in style.

“Now that we’ve been around for more than 10 years, we’re getting many repeat clients and referrals from those clients,” owner Joe Jacobs says. “My goal from the beginning was to build a business that offers the best services for a fair price and word will spread. We’re very proud of what we’ve built and are grateful for the response of this community.”

In the springtime, Joe and his crew return to the outdoors just like the rest of us. But while we look forward to relaxing, Chagrin Home Improvements is busy preparing our outdoor spaces and making sure they’re in the best condition possible.

“We’re excited to get back outside and get your decks ready for summer fun,” Joe says. “In the winter months, we focus on cabinet painting and have perfected that process just like our deck revitalization process. Indoors or out, we don’t skip a beat.”

For Chagrin Home Improvements, the difference is in the process and attention to detail. Here’s how the deck revitalization process goes:

  1. Call Chagrin Home Improvements. A crew member will visit your home, assess the condition of your deck, take photos and get back to you with a written quote for approval.
  2. The crew wastes no time making minor repairs, like securing loose or raised screws and nails and replacing small, rotted wood pieces for a smooth, satisfying surface.
  3. The thorough cleaning process rids the deck surface of dirt and mold buildup. “The cleaning process is probably the most important step and one that DIYers skip altogether or don’t do properly,” Joe says. “Power washing is tricky, and if you do it too harshly you can damage the wood, causing much bigger problems. It’s a delicate balance.”
  4. Next, your like-new deck is stained and sealed with the highest quality stain of your choice. “Staining is also one of those jobs that seems like it should be easy, but getting it just right is difficult and requires expertise,” Joe says. “We’ll do the job the right way.”

An efficient deck revitalization job by Chagrin Home Improvements usually takes two days, depending on the weather, and don’t worry about being home for any of it. Go about your day and come home to your fresh and beautiful, like-new deck.

“Once your deck is cleaned and sealed, we recommend rinsing it off regularly to help with mold and mildew buildup. Every couple of years, only a professional cleaning process will protect it from rotting, warping and other issues that will cost you down the road,” Joe says.

This community has come to expect the best from Chagrin Home Improvements, and that’s just what they get. Call and get a spot on the schedule for your deck revitalization.

“We’ve perfected this process over the years,” Joe says. “Our crew is made up of family and friends, never seasonal hires, and all are experts at what they do. You see the same crew every day until the job is finished and you’re fully satisfied. We’ve worked hard for our reputation and are proud of our results. You will be, too.”
