Ohio’s Outstanding Chamber of the Year award was presented to: (L-R) Terry Kilbourne, Board Chair; Heather Fresenko, Vice Chair; Donna Swan, Member Service Specialist; Sophia Filipiak, Marketing and Events Manager and Dana Wolfe, Executive Director.

The Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce has been named Ohio’s Outstanding Chamber of the Year in the category of under 600 members by Chamber Professionals of Ohio, recognizing the organization’s leadership, innovation and impact across its business community.

“With strategic vision, strong financial stewardship and meaningful community engagement, the Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber exemplifies what a high-performing chamber should be,” says Matt Owen, executive director of Chamber Professionals of Ohio.

The chamber represents 584 members across eight Lake County communities: Eastlake, Kirtland, Lakeline, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Willowick and Timberlake. Its mission focuses on fostering a diverse environment where businesses and residents are proud to work, live and play.

Workforce initiatives included awarding $18,450 in student scholarships and distributing $10,000 in business training grants to 29 local businesses. Collaborative programs such as the Think Manufacturing Expo and Lakeland Community College’s Dollar$ for Dream$ initiative connected students and entrepreneurs with career and mentorship opportunities.

The chamber’s signature events, including Willoughby ArtsFest, Chamber Cares, SeptMember new membership campaign and the annual Golf Outing, generated strong participation and supported scholarships and grants.
