Beyond the mowing and edging, Ryan’s Signature Landscaping can tap into your yard’s beauty—and make it come to life.

Celebrating his fifth anniversary, Ryan Manthey of Ryan’s Signature Landscaping reflects on his evolution—from mowing lawns with a beat-up mower as a child to getting his first job in landscaping at 14 and knowing he had the passion to follow this career path.

The Medina County native says, “it was a natural to progress from routine maintenance to full-blown design and build capabilities.”

From concept to completion, he and his team do it all, every step of the process.

He adds his favorite part of the job is opening homeowners’ eyes when it comes to what’s possible for their outdoor living, one customized transformation at a time.

“At the end of the day, I don’t consider our team to be just landscapers. We are artists, problem-solvers and stewards of the natural environment,” he says.

From Tired to Inspired

The home featured here is a prime example of Ryan’s design inspiration.

“The family had just moved into the house and the landscaping was maybe 20 years old, overgrown, dying and badly in need of replacement,” he says. “We gutted it and did a full design-build from scratch. We created a beautiful stamped concrete patio and landscaping around it, taking into account the maturity level of the trees, shrubs and perennials to last as long as possible. When you pull in the driveway, the landscape enhances the home perfectly. We also built beds to surround the deck of their in-ground pool.”'

Dream It. Design It. Build It.

Over the years, Ryan has honed a process that works. He explains it begins with an initial consultation, meeting with clients and discussing goals, ideas and budget.

“Then, after we measure, I produce drawings of a design that best fits the way they live and what they want from their new space,” he says. “I make any revisions to the design and present it to them for review. Then we come up with a timeline and payment schedule. Everything is spelled out.”

From there, his seasoned team of installers brings the vision to life. Ryan feels fortunate to have grown over the years with the same dedicated team in place, no subcontractors needed. Joining him overseeing jobsites is Connor Hitchcock.

“From the first meeting to the final walk-through, homeowners work directly with us every step of the way,” says Ryan.

What Homeowners are Saying

The overwhelmingly positive reviews Ryan and his team have garnered paint a picture of their can-do attitude. Not surprisingly, he says almost all his jobs come from referrals. Here are a few:

Kelton Keller says he first met Ryan when he was working on his family farm, which led Kelton to hire him after he founded his business. Kelton says, “Every year he continues to expand his knowledge in all aspects of landscaping, hardscaping, concrete work, etc., by taking classes and getting certified to do various things to give himself a broader net to cast when being able to offer the customer not only a full scope on the project they’re trying to have done, but also being able to execute it with precision and expertise. He’s a young man that is bound and determined to be successful and failure is not an option.”

Mark and Lauren Lape have been working with Ryan for more than four years, on everything from spring clean-ups and landscaping to designing the backyard of their dreams with an in-ground pool and outdoor kitchen. With Ryan’s talent for maximizing outdoor living spaces, they added an L-shaped island bar with refrigerator, grill and seating, and designed and planted their favorite plants and accent rocks around the pool perimeter.

“The project was topped off with beautiful, edged beds full of river rock that made the project come to life,” says Mark. “If you want someone you can trust, know the job will get done right, Ryan’s Signature Landscaping is your company.

For Dr. Sinick, the transformation of the property was about more than simply updating the landscaping—it was about creating an outdoor space that would enhance the home and be enjoyed for years to come. As the featured homeowner in this project, Dr. Sinick shares firsthand how Ryan’s Signature Landscaping brought the vision to life and exceeded expectations.

“The finished project has dramatically improved both the beauty and functionality of our property, and we’ve received countless compliments from neighbors and friends. If you’re looking for a landscaping company that takes pride in their work and delivers outstanding results, we highly recommend Ryan’s Signature Landscaping,” says Dr. Sinick.

All About the Lighting

When it comes to high-end landscaping jobs, lighting is a make-or-break design element. It plays a critical role in safety and security, while extending a homeowner’s enjoyment of their living space.

Across Northeast Ohio, Ryan Manthey has created stunning lighting designs with a strategic approach that blends art and next-level LED technology to enhance the unique features of any property.

“We accentuate architectural focal points of a home and create dramatic effects that feel elevated, spotlighting trees, pathways and water features,” he says. “Beyond esthetics, our systems are engineered to be energy-efficient, low maintenance and longlasting.”

Ryan and his team work exclusively with Kichler Lighting, which is a premium company that offers a blend of performance and style, endless opportunities to enhance and define your vibe.

The right lighting choices increase curb appeal and a home’s overall value,” he says. “Also, the new systems come with options such as changing colors and the ability to control timing, brightness and other functions from your smartphone, which homeowners love.”
