Covered for life

Spartan StormShield’s attention to detail, including working with insurance companies, means that when this team installs one of its high-quality roof systems on your home, you’re covered.

After they spoke with a neighbor who praised the workmanship and customer service they received from Spartan StormShield, Renee and Aaron Price decided to give the highly rated company a chance, and they weren’t disappointed. (Photography: Francis Angelone)

Renee and Aaron Price of North Ridgeville were horrified when they discovered water seeping in around the roof vent on their home. Being a skilled general contractor with more than 25 years of experience, Aaron had no problem grabbing a ladder and climbing up to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, the roof had sustained damage and needed to be replaced. The Prices made a claim with their insurance company and heard nothing back—for two years. Then a drive-by roofing company knocked on their door and said they could help. The individual went up on their roof, then left. And again, they never heard back.

Only after they spoke with a neighbor who praised the workmanship and customer service they received from Spartan StormShield did the Prices decide to take another chance. They were impressed with Spartan’s tagline of installing “the roof system to last your lifetime.”

Here’s the nitty-gritty about their Spartan-to-the-rescue experience:

Q: What were your concerns before you hired Spartan StormShield as your roofing company?
A:
“After just having a bad experience with the other roofer, we were a little leery about working with another. As soon as we called Spartan, James came out the next day, spent a lot of time on the roof taking pictures, and we had a resolution from the insurance company within a week. He took the time to thoroughly explain every part of the process, went over the timeline and answered all of our questions. We were impressed.”

Q: What was the scope of your roofing job?

A: “Our home was built in 2005 and still had its original roof. Deterioration had damaged the vents and water was coming into the house. The shingles were starting to wear away.”

Q: What made Spartan stand out from the other roofing companies you interviewed?

A: “To be honest, after we met with James, we didn’t bother seeking out any other bids.”

Q: Did you learn anything new about your roof?

A: “Since I’m a contractor, I was already a little familiar with the products and their benefits. I was pleased that Spartan only works with the highest-quality brands. We were happy with all the color and style selections James went over with us.”

Q: What were the installers like?

A: “They showed up at 6:59 a.m. and took excellent care, covering our landscaping and decorative koi pond. They came in and out in a day and the new roof looked pristine when they were done. The jobsite was spotless.”

Q: Do you feel your new roof was a great value?

A: Yes, we love the new roof, and since we had Spartan also install new gutters, it was a relief to not be worried about water running over our old ones whenever it rained.”

Q: What has made you the happiest working with Spartan StormShield?

A: “Honestly, we feel like with James we’ve created a friend for life. He’s been amazing, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable. I’m a business owner and for me the number one thing when working with other companies is do you do what you say you’re going to do. Spartan did. We applaud James’ expertise, work ethic and professionalism, as well as that of his crew.”

The Neighborhood Check & Chill Experience
This summer, Spartan StormShield made waves with the launch of its Neighborhood Check & Chill Experience.Bringing back the nostalgic throwback of an ice cream truck is representative of their mission to spread goodwill.

“We’re always thinking outside the box when it comes to reaching people,” says Joel Arlia, one of the family-owned operation’s co-owners. “With Check & Chill, we give out free ice cream to kids of all ages, and at the same time offer free roof inspections and answer questions from homeowners. The ice cream truck signifies a return to All-American values and a simpler time. It’s a reflection of our values, which are transparency, honesty and educating homeowners about the latest in roofing technology.”

Joel says their ability to educate the consumer is the reason why 90% of Spartan’s business comes from word of mouth.

“We go out of our way to educate homeowners and work with insurance companies to make sure they receive the full amount of their claim,” he says. “Our clients have always found this refreshing, and we hope they find their Check & Chill Experience refreshing, too.”
