Breakthrough dental implant technology
Dr. William Aerni continues to lead the area on precision dental implants. Here’s the latest tool in his arsenal.

Offering world-class care in a spectacular setting along with putting together a compassionate and caring staff has been Dr. William Aerni’s mission for more than 35 years.
When it comes to dental implant technology, Dr. William Aerni, of Aerni Dental, is in rarified air.
He’s among the top 1% of implant surgeons nationally to offer the breakthrough X-Guide 3D Navigation dental implants to help patients suffering from missing teeth.
He was also recently recognized by the Midwest Implant Institute at Case Western Reserve University with an Honored Fellow Lifetime Achievement Award that recognizes his significant contributions to implant dentistry. As a graduate of the institute, he’s been performing dental implants since the early 1990s.
“The X-Guide is breakthrough technology because of its precision. It’s more than 11 times more accurate than placing an implant freehand,” he says. “Initially developed for neurosurgeons, the guided navigation during implant surgery helps in the accuracy of the implant placement, meaning position, angle and depth.”
“It allows us to perform minimally invasive surgery with smaller incisions, better placement and faster recovery,” he says. “Patients can get healing implant bridges in the same visit. They tell us it makes a difference for them that everything can be done here in our office.”
Offering world-class care in a spectacular setting—floor-to-ceiling windows in the treatment rooms overlook the Metroparks—along with putting together a compassionate and caring staff has been his mission for more than 35 years.
“Everything we do is centered on protecting and ensuring the long-term health and well-being of our patients,” he says. “We restore their teeth and chewing function to their optimal state and then create a strategy to keep it that way for their rest of their lifetimes.”
What Patients are Saying
Andrew Z. was suffering from a decaying tooth that needed to be replaced.
“My appointment went amazingly smooth, and was virtually painless,” he says. “I’ve never had such a great experience, let alone having a tooth pulled and implant put in on the same visit. The high-tech equipment used, along with Dr. Aerni and his dental assistants’ professionalism, were second to none.”
Another patient who was losing his teeth, Ron says after Dr. Aerni explained his options, implant-supported bridges were a better option for his quality of life in the long run over traditional dentures.
“He showed me examples of dentures and partial plates,” he says. “I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied with taking Poligrip and sticking something in my mouth. I told him to give me his best shot and he did. If you’re in a position where you can’t eat except certain foods, you’re depriving yourself of one of the luxuries of life and good health.”
Ron says that since Dr. Aerni has performed thousands of these procedures, he had confidence in the outcome. “He actually teaches other younger dentists how to do this,” he adds. “It doesn’t get much better than that.”
And speaking of younger dentists, you can expect the next generation of Aernis, his youngest son Christopher, to one day join the growing practice. He just graduated from The Ohio State University and is heading off to dental school at his father’s alma mater, Case Western Reserve University.
