Better movement for a better you
No limits, better movement, improved quality of life. This is why we stretch.

Why wait to make healthy changes to your routine? The end of summer is a great time to refocus, recharge and reclaim your physical and mental well-being, and it starts with consistent stretching.
“With the kids heading back to school, fall activities starting and post-summer fatigue settling in, this is a great time to add an assisted stretching routine to your schedule,” says StretchLab Fairlawn manager Cameron Moss. “As temperatures begin to fall, we’re naturally tighter. Heat allows for pliability, so now is a great time to work on maintaining and gaining flexibility for the colder months ahead.”
StretchLab offers assisted stretching, during which your personal, extensively trained Flexologist builds and administers your stretch according to your needs, goals and abilities. This is a highly personalized experience, offering life-changing results for clients of all ages.
“Stretching is integral for childhood development,” says Cameron. “As we age, flexibility decreases. If you stretch regularly when you’re young, it’s easier to maintain that flexibility as you age rather than trying to make up for lost time.”
Cameron says StretchLab Flexologists work with many young athletes seeking an advantage in their sports, as well as adults and seniors who want to stay active in golf, tennis, running, and walking, or maintain independence at home.
“Everyone has a goal in mind when they come to StretchLab,” says Cameron. “No matter what that goal is, your Flexologist will get you there.”
It starts with that first phone call to StretchLab, during which a team member will discuss your goals, capabilities and any special issues you might have, then schedule your introductory stretch.
At your initial StretchLab visit, your Flexologist begins with a MAPS assessment determining mobility, activation, posture and symmetry to ensure they focus on the right muscle groups, and you get the most out of your session. The MAPS test is regularly repeated to measure improvements in flexibility and strength and to set future goals.
“All StretchLab Flexologists have backgrounds in various health and fitness-related fields, like yoga, personal training, massage therapy or exercise physiology,” says Cameron. “Even though your StretchLab experience is a one-on-one dedicated stretch, Flexologists work together, exchange ideas, and rely on each other for various experiences and knowledge.”
StretchLab Flexologist training includes an extensive, three-tiered certification process with 60 hours of in-person workshops and 20-plus hours of hands-on training in administering the 26 signature StretchLab stretches, which are designed to address every muscle group in the body.
Flexologists use a stretching technique called proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, which uses resistance to target your body’s tissues and ligaments and improve muscle elasticity. You are never in pain and are always in control of your stretch.
“As a dancer, I learned at an early age the importance of stretching for mobility and strength,” says Cameron. “Later on, I played baseball, then did long-distance triathlons. I stopped stretching during those years and suffered the results, experiencing soreness and injuries. My body really craved what consistent stretching provided.”
Studying exercise physiology in college, Cameron learned that stretching for flexibility is one of the five domains of physical fitness.
“At StretchLab, I found the hands-on, assisted approach to stretching takes away the worry about hurting yourself or doing it right,” says Cameron. “Stretching on your own requires you to contract one muscle while relaxing another. An assisted StretchLab stretch lets you fully relax while your Flexologist does all the work, offering much greater benefit.”
Cameron recalls one client who was struggling to tie his own shoes. After working with Cameron, he gained the flexibility to do this task and so much more.
“This was a big win for him,” says Cameron. “That’s what StretchLab does for clients—gives them the ability and confidence to reach goals, then move beyond them toward a stronger, more flexible, pain-free life.”
And there’s more than just physical benefits to be gained at StretchLab. Flexologists report the mental benefits of assisted stretching are also important.
“Many clients come in feeling discouraged, even sad about their restricted mobility or pain,” Cameron says. “After just one session, they feel better. It’s an act of self-care that lightens your mood, makes you feel better, and puts you on a path to a future you may not have thought was possible.”
There’s no need to stress about returning to a scheduled, more sedentary fall. StretchLab will have you moving and feeling better all season long.
