Beauty enhanced

For anyone who wants to enhance their beauty without changing who they are, Licensed Permanent Makeup Artist Uliana Koriukina specializes in creating natural-looking effects to bring out the best in eyebrows, eyes and lips.

In 2023, she opened her cozy and elegant spa suite—UliKor Beauty—within IMAGE Studios Salon Suites in Strongsville. 

During a free consultation, with an artist’s eye she takes the time to evaluate each client’s features and their unique shape and symmetry. Before every pigment procedure, Uliana always creates a detailed sketch and finalizes it with the client to show what is possible to perfect the features, whether adding pigment to skin to correct shape, emphasize the eye with permanent eyeliner, or add dimension and soft color to the lips.

Two of her most popular services are the Soft Lip Blush and Soft Powder Brows. Both promise a soft, well-groomed appearance without looking overdone.

After the initial service, she performs a touch-up at one to three months to make sure the effect is perfect. Then she recommends clients come back for an annual refresh.

Through specialized skin pigmentation, she can also camouflage scars, imperfections and stretch marks, as well as remove tattoos by extracting pigment from the dermis without using a laser.

Breast Cancer Mission

Uliana has made it her professional mission to honor clients who have gone through breast cancer treatment and mastectomy. She partners with United Together Community Services, a New Jersey-based nonprofit, to provided pro-bono areola reconstruction for breast cancer survivors across the United States.

“I restore dignity, confidence and healing to cancer survivors,” she says. “I help them feel whole, confident and beautiful again through 3D paramedical tattooing to restore what was lost in the surgery.” 

Inspiring Others through Training

As a true artist and master professional, Uliana has also made it a mission to develop skills and confidence in others. She has created individual and small-group training sessions to ensure personal attention.

“My mission is not just to teach technique, but to also share my personal experience so students can grow into successful, independent artists,” she says. “The program is perfect for those who want to start a career in permanent makeup. I also offer individual master classes for those currently practicing permanent makeup. After classes, I continue to offer support.”

Uliana’s Story

Growing up in Ukraine, Uliana says she wanted to be a doctor. After earning her degree in economics, she spent more than 18 years as an accountant for a government institution.

“I’ve always had a desire to help others,” she says. “While life took me down a different professional path, permanent makeup eventually became the perfect blend of everything I love: precision, esthetics, care, and, in many ways, the gentle, detailed nature of a medical procedure.”

She underwent training in Ukraine and immersed herself in master classes and international professional competitions. She has been practicing permanent makeup since 2020, with professional training completed in both Ukraine and Ohio to validate her expertise and obtain her licensure.

After the war broke out in Ukraine, she relocated with her family, first to Poland, and eventually to the United States in 2022. She enrolled in English classes at a local college, because she valued communication and connection as essential to her line of work.

“My journey hasn’t been easy, but I truly believe that every challenge is an opportunity,” she says. “I’m so grateful to now be in a place where I can help women and men feel empowered, radiant and confident in their own skin. For me, it’s an emotional journey I take with each client, to improve what they see in the mirror every day and the person they project to the world.”
