A way to spend your refund

Scott McEvoy, Licensed Insurance Agent HealthMarkets Insurance Agency • March 9, 2026

Life insurance is protection.

If you’re expecting a tax refund, you may already be thinking about how you plan to use it.

Depending on where you fall financially, tax season can feel stressful or welcome. If you’re expecting a tax refund, you may already be thinking about how you plan to use it. Rather than spending the entire refund at once, some people may choose to allocate a portion toward longer‑term financial priorities.

One option to consider is life insurance.

We offer a variety of life insurance options, and I or a member of my team can help you review available coverage and discuss which options may be appropriate based on family needs and circumstances.

  • Level Term Life Insurance – Provides coverage for the duration of the term, such as 10, 20 or 30 years, with fixed premiums. Often selected to help to help provide income replacement during an individual’s working years.
  • Whole Life Insurance – A type of permanent coverage that typically features level premiums and a cash value component that may build over time, subject to policy terms and conditions.
  • Universal Life Insurance – Permanent coverage that may offer flexible premiums and adjustable death benefit options, subject to policy terms.
  • Indexed Universal Life (IUL) – A type of universal life policy where cash value growth is linked to a market index formula, subject to policy limits and terms.
  • Final Expense Insurance – Designed to help cover funeral and burial costs, typically offering smaller benefit amounts.

Policy features, benefits, and costs vary by carrier and individual health factors. My guidance is offered at no cost. I look forward to hearing from you.
