Housed in a Victorian mansion built in the 1850s, the Corkscrew Saloon blends historic charm with an inviting dining experience. The mansion’s original eight rooms—including the dining room, living room and former bedrooms—have been thoughtfully converted into intimate dining spaces, each offering its own cozy atmosphere and a glimpse of the home’s history. It’s a distinctive setting for savoring some of Northeast Ohio’s finest seafood, steaks and chops.

Located just a mile from the Medina Square’s Historic District, the restaurant has been welcoming diners for two decades, earning a reputation for pairing exceptional food with the warmth and character of a historic home.

“We have fresh fish flown in, and we hand-cut our Angus Reserve steaks and American Wagyu in-house, so everything is fresh and made to order,” says owner and executive chef Ryan Marino.

The restaurant uses fresh local ingredients and partners with nearby farmers when possible. Its menu evolves with the seasons, from fall clambakes and hearty winter soups to summer salads bursting with off-the-vine tomatoes and fresh greens.

The chef and his team balance familiar favorites with unexpected culinary twists. One staple on the appetizer menu is Escargot, imported from France and served with chef-cured candied prosciutto crostini and tarragon cream. For that something different, the Duck Bacon Wontons finished with apricot mango do not disappoint.

“Though we rotate our menu items, one of our most popular items that is always on the menu is the Shrimp & Crab Salmon, which is fresh salmon stuffed with a shrimp and crab mixture and finished with lobster sauce,” Ryan says. “We also are known for our homemade pastas.”

The dining experience extends beyond the mansion’s dining rooms. An expansive outdoor patio overlooks a pond with a fountain, while a carriage house just steps away accommodates private events for up to 60 guests.
