When deciding which of the three they wanted to add to spruce up their backyard landscape —patio, pavilion, or pool—these Copley homeowners decided to do all three.

Specializing in backyard entertainment spaces, Impact Landscape & Home Remodeling just finished this stunning landscape project that incorporates myriad hardscapes softened up with trees, shrubs and flowers.

“We created a resort-like backyard with different entertainment spaces, each with their own features,” says Jeff Heinl, Impact co-owner and vice president. “There is a mix of open spaces and covered areas all connected by a colored concrete patio with inlaid pavers.”

A 20-by-36-foot pavilion was constructed in the corner of the lot at a 45-degree angle to maximize the backyard space. It really has everything your house would—a vent-less fireplace and mantel, a kitchen with sink, refrigerator and grill, a bathroom, a TV and music speakers, electric heaters and lighting.

Always with a nod to nature, Impact Landscape likes to incorporate natural elements into all its designs with the same goal: to provide an outdoor space that is relaxing and rejuvenating.

“We designed the pavilion so it could be used three seasons,” says Mike Carr, project manager. “It is constructed from cedar, has a tongue-and-groove oak ceiling and six pillars wrapped in cultured stone.”

Meandering through the center of the yard is a dry creek bed that stretches more than 100 feet and crosses over two paver bridges.

“We constructed the dry creek for water management,” Mike says. “We created something that was utilitarian but also adds a beautiful design element, so we made it a focal point. We used different size boulders, plants and grasses, along with lighting, to accentuate it.”

Even the built-in pool was designed to blend in with the natural surrounds, while at the same time commanding attention.

With each landscape project, the company creates a detailed plan, which is meticulously hand drawn by Russ Luyster, the landscape designer. A seasoned horticulturist, he doesn’t rely on computer templates, but rather designs by hand a custom plan for each home, which can include trees, shrubs, flowering perennials, boulders, lighting, patios, pergolas and other hardscapes.

Both a landscape company and a home remodeler, Impact has a unique perspective when designing inside and outside spaces. From designing backyard kitchens that look like they belong indoors to remodeling home interiors by taking down walls to create views of the yard, this locally owned company is seamlessly blending indoor-outdoor living spaces.

“We have built our company over the past 25 years based on integrity and positive reviews from our clients,” says Jeff. “What sets us apart is we are empathetic and really listen and understand what our clients want.”

Dive In
If you have always wanted an in-ground pool, there is still time to build one this year. Specializing in fiberglass pools, Impact Landscape & Home Remodeling can elevate your backyard into an outdoor oasis.

“Fiberglass pools are a less expensive option that come in all sizes and shapes,” Jeff Heinl, Impact co-owner and vice president says.

From classic linear to free form to kidney shaped, they are customizable with inlaid tiles, tanning ledges, bubblers and more.

“As a landscape company, we always design pools that are part of the overall landscape so they fit in naturally, while still being the focal point,” he says.
