Dr. Esparaz recommends a complete eye exam for anyone age 50 or over, and sooner if you’re experiencing issues. A thorough exam can detect conditions that may not be presenting symptoms, and early detection is critical. Conditions treated include:

  • Cataracts - As we age, proteins and fibers within the clear eye lens may break down and build up, causing clouded vision resulting in a cataract. Dr. Esparaz treats routine and complex cataracts through state-of-the-art technology. Minimally invasive surgery offers patients clearer vision in just days.
  • Macular Degeneration - Macular degeneration is an age-related disease with early-stage symptoms including straight lines appearing crooked, blurriness or blank spots in vision. Lifestyle changes can lower your risk. Primary treatment includes in-eye injections of medications.
  • Glaucoma - A chronic eye condition initially without symptoms, Dr. Esparaz offers glaucoma screenings, medication and laser therapy.

“My direct-care practice allows me to spend as much time as necessary with a patient to be sure a diagnosis is explained and they feel comfortable,” Dr. Esparaz says.
