Authentic and charming to its core, Roasted Coffee Shop in Olmsted Falls is serving up a host of to-die-for hand-roasted coffee and fruity, summery delights in its signature laid-back atmosphere.

Owners Todd and Lauren Phillips are on a first-name basis with most of their customers and stay involved in the community, where they also live.

“We wanted to create a welcoming space where people can pop in and stay awhile, slow down and connect,” says Lauren. “And we have always been big coffee drinkers who appreciate what separates good from great.”

Bringing the Best Beans to the CLE
When they opened Roasted nearly three years ago, Todd and Lauren searched for the finest purveyor of beans. They ended up taking a trip to Utah to meet fellow veterans who own Alpha Coffee.

“We are still the only place in Cleveland and one of very few in the country to carry Alpha coffee,” she says.

One sip of the small-batch roasted, medium-light breakfast blend and you instantly realize that the trip out west was well worth it. Like a fine wine, the brew is complex and interesting, ultra-smooth and robust.

“In addition to coffee, one of our hottest sellers right now is the super refreshing Fruit Tango,” she adds. “We blend sparkling water with flavors and real fruit, in blue raspberry, mango, dragon fruit, cotton candy and pineapple and strawberry. And we can add a boost of caffeine, too, which most people opt for.”

Another fan fave—the White Dragon—is quite pretty in pink. The crafty baristas swirl dragon fruit and flavor into coconut milk for a healthy and scrumptious elixir that customers can’t get enough of. But you’ll have to catch the summer concoctions while you can, as September will usher in the season of pumpkin spice, maple and caramel apple-flavored coffee, as well as hot apple cider drinks.

Any time of year, to complement the deliciously addictive bevvies, the shop offers a host of breakfast and lunch goodies, including breakfast burritos with sausage or turkey sausage and eggs, oatmeal, croissants, muffins, or Lauren’s mom Sharon’s amazing cookies.

As military veterans, Cleveland Fire Fighters and parents of children who have gone through the local schools, Lauren and Todd give back where it counts. They offer military veterans and active military, first responders and teachers or staff within the Olmsted Falls School System 10% off any beverage every day.

Feels Just Like Home
The vibe Todd and Lauren are going for is casual, rustic and reclaimed. They sourced wood from a century-old barn in Ohio for the accent walls, included rough concrete for the counters and fashioned lighting from a grid of Edison bulbs.

“Our front patio is also a hot spot this summer for folks to hang out,” says Lauren. The area features six adorable wrought iron ice cream tables and chairs.

Enmeshed in the Community
As the local neighborhoods, churches and businesses are coming back to life this summer, Todd and Lauren are there with them.

“We have catered many events, such as the summer school camp for Grace Church, as well as donated coffee for things like the Spirit 5K and the upcoming Bull Dog Bash,” says Lauren.
