The newly opened Moon Flower Beauty Bar is as much an immersive experience as it is a haven for sugaring, waxing, massage, permanent makeup, facials, peels, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and beautification of brows and lashes through lamination, extensions and lift-and-tints.

Owners Frankie Marie and Liv Kichurchak went through the Brown Aveda Institute together. After graduating as advanced estheticians in 2021, they each went on to earn additional certifications and licensures to perform services within the industry. Last year they were working at other salons in the area when the chance to pool their immeasurable talents happened and they took it.

“We were both in a place where we felt we couldn’t fully reach our potential,” says Liv. “To us, this business is an art, a place to foster relationships and improve the lives of others. Even though we’ve only been open a couple months, it’s amazing to see existing clients come from so far away and start relationships with new ones.”

In terms of specialties, Liv is the sugaring expert, and Frankie does mostly lashes and brows. But there’s overlap and plenty of other beauty services, too.

The welcoming esthetic vibe is akin to an enchanted garden, with plenty of organic florals and cozy touches. Instead of commercial-grade salon equipment, you’ll find lovingly salvaged antiques, bookcases and lace curtains.

Liv and Frankie are passionate about sending their clients home with the best quality products, so they began blending their own with aromatherapy oils and all-natural ingredients.

Apothecary Organic Products
Frankie and Liv are passionate about sending their clients home with the best quality products, so they began blending their own with aromatherapy oils and all-natural ingredients.

“We’ve put together targeted and soothing soaps, oils and lotions that ease inflammation and protect skin,” says Liv. “Some of our favorite high-performing ingredients are ylang-ylang, lavender, lemon, rose and grapeseed oils. Our foaming face wash, which is gentle and effective for both anti-aging and acne-prone skin, is a best seller, and so are our lip oils and lash cleanser.”

In terms of services, the estheticians like to stay on trend.

“We’re seeing a lot of clients opting for mocha-colored brows and lashes instead of black, which softens the look and adds rich dimension to any eye color,” says Frankie.

Even though they haven’t been open for long, Frankie and Liv have earned a fiercely loyal client base.

“Liv is a magician at sugaring,” says Lindsy R. “She is so kind and makes the experience as pain-free as she can. I also recently saw Frankie for a brow wax and tint. Her work made my jaw drop. Both of them are passionate about their work and so invested and kind to the clients. I won’t go anywhere else.”

“I won’t let anyone else touch my hair.” says Madison B.

“This atmosphere and customer service you won’t find any more in our society,” says Heather H. “I’ll be going back and sending my referrals their way.”
