While thousands will flock to the Lake County YMCA Dream House this summer to glimpse the latest design ideas, all the interior décor accessories needed to create your own dreamy abode are waiting for you at Guhde Flooring America in Painesville.

“Over the years, we keep adding elements so our customers don’t have to go anywhere else when redoing their home,” says Office Manager Monica Guhde Rosa.

Grandeur From the Ground Up
“To emphasize any décor scheme, custom-cut area rugs add a luxury look,” she says.

“Through our Cut a Rug program, we can create any desired shape to work in tandem with a room’s perimeter or furniture orientation—round, square, pentagon, hexagon and even L-shaped runners.”

To further customize the piece, the edging finish can range from a simple cotton binding or surged look, to a more decorative cloth or leather border.

“We also offer a sculptured border technique that lends to a richly textured effect,” she adds.

Any carpet in the showroom is available to be cut into an area rug, from soft neutrals to bold geodesic patterns and daring animal prints.

Color, Color, on the Wall
“The majority of people—about 78 percent—paint their walls when they change their flooring,” says Sales Manager Shawn Rosa.

“We are thrilled to introduce Kilz Tribute interior paint, available only at Flooring America stores. These all-in-one primer and paint formulas produce perfect coverage and long-lasting results.”

The anti-microbial, mold and mildew-resistant paints are perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. And with 500+ colors in four finishes, there’s a just-right shade for every room in your home.

Countertops, Backsplashes and Showers
“One of the most important design elements in a room is counter surfaces, and we are excited to offer Cambria quartz, which is considered the most durable in the industry,” says Shawn.

“It’s even harder than granite and it looks fabulous, too. Cambria is available in over 120 different patterns, and we offer 19 styles of custom edging.”

Backsplashes are to a room like eyebrows to a face, they bring out the best in other elements and provide the pop. Monica notes there are more choices than ever for people changing up this high-impact area.

“People often ask us if the trend toward glass tiles will go away. We say no, it’s only evolving, with glass mixed with natural stone or metal tiles,” says Monica.

Shawn says his favorite part of the job is design consulting.

“It’s fun and rewarding to sit down with people, narrow their preferences and be able to put it all together in a dream space that suits them, makes good design sense and is both timeless and timely.”
