Most kitchen cabinet stores offer “upgrades,” like all-wood construction and soft-close doors and drawers.

You might more accurately think of them as “up-sells.”

“That doesn’t happen at Northeast Factory Direct (NEFD), because other stores’ upgrades are standard features on our cabinets,” assures Angelo Lardomita Jr., president of NEFD’s cabinet division. “With us, you get higher quality at prices as much as 60 percent below what you would pay at home improvement stores.”

Angelo Lardomita Jr., (left) president of NEFD’s cabinet division, says part of NEFD’s goal is to give customers an “easy, fast and painless experience.”

It’s a part of NEFD’s goal to give customers an “easy, fast and painless experience,” Angelo explains.

“Basically, all you need to do is sit back, let us know what you want, and our experts will get everything done for you,” he says.

The NEFD experience starts with a superior product compared to what you might expect to find at an affordable, no-frills warehouse store, Angelo says.

All-wood construction is just one example.

“We don’t sell particleboard cabinets like you’ll see on the shelves of home improvement retailers,” he says. “We’re offering solid, well-built cabinets at particleboard prices. Our cabinets also feature solid maple dovetailed drawer construction and soft-close doors and drawers on full-extension, under mounted glides that are made of steel—not plastic. Those features are upgrades on some very popular national brands at other stores.”

Because of the high-volume discounts it negotiates with manufacturers, NEFD is able to offer better quality cabinets at lower prices.

And, Angelo adds, unlike some national, web-based vendors, assembly is never required for NEFD cabinets.

“Our cabinets arrive conveniently ready to install,” he says.

NEFD is able to offer better quality cabinets at lower prices because of the high-volume discounts it negotiates with manufacturers.

“We buy the most popular merchandise in bulk and pass the savings along to our customers,” Angelo says. “That’s been our strategy since Alex [Nemet, the owner] started the company in his garage.”

Complementing its significant price advantage, NEFD adds superior service and installation to the experience, Angelo promises.

“An important part of our value is that we employ creative kitchen designers who can maximize space and turn it into something that’s beautiful and functional,” he says.

NEFD’s talented designers are adept at creating spectacular kitchens, but also can find clever ways to utilize rugged and attractive cabinets in other rooms in your home.

Imagine a home office work station with lots of storage. NEFD carries size-specific desk cabinets.

“Our stunning, semi-custom cabinetry is ideal for organizing and beautifying spaces throughout the house, including bathrooms, home offices, garages and mudrooms,” Angelo says. “In fact, our cabinets are featured in a special mudroom display at our new Canton showroom.”

Mudrooms have become an increasingly popular application for NEFD’s rugged, all-wood cabinets, he reveals.

“A mudroom is like a landing zone for when you come in the house,” he suggests. “You’ll have a bench seat where you can sit down and put your shoes on. You can have a drawer underneath for storage and a tall hutch with hooks to hang up jackets. You can have some open shelving or closed cabinets on the walls for more storage, and we can dress it up with lighted glass cabinets at the top. It may look so fancy you may not want to call it a mudroom.”

Angelo points out that NEFD’s designers’ work stations are created with its cabinetry.

Mudrooms have become an increasingly popular application for NEFD’s rugged, all-wood cabinets.

“We have size-specific desk cabinets, meaning the height is a lot shorter than a normal kitchen cabinet would be,” he says. “We have file storage cabinets that can be painted or stained. There are spacious pantries, linen cabinets and other tall storage options that work wonderfully to create open or closed storage space in your home office or mudroom.”

Whatever room you adorn with NEFD cabinetry, you can be sure you’re in line with the latest and most popular styles, Angelo assures.

“For example, people are in love with our white Shaker-style cabinets,” he says. “They make up about 60 percent of all the cabinets we sell. But Alex recently negotiated unbelievable new pricing, so we can get not only Shaker white, but Shaker in seven or eight different colors and stains for the same price as Shaker white. That’s huge for our customers.”

Spectacular deals on quality products include everything from cabinets to furniture to recreation equipment to flooring—like luxury vinyl tile (LVT), for example. LVT is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms and home offices.

“LVT is waterproof and scratch proof. You’d really be hard-pressed to damage it,” Angelo says. “It’s easy to install and it comes in all kinds of designs that mimic hardwood and ceramic tile—even with simulated grout lines.”
