With more than a quarter-century of experience remodeling homes, Kaye Construction has built a niche business focusing on the big three: home additions, kitchens and master bathrooms.

The company’s most recent renovation encompassed both building an addition and a new kitchen in a Lakewood neighborhood that is just steps from the lake.

“The homeowners wanted a bigger kitchen and more of an open concept,” says Josh Kaye, who, along with his brother, Joe, and father, Ron, owns Kaye Construction. “We built a 4-foot addition on the back of the house that allowed us to expand the kitchen and bump out the sink and stove area. The way it is framed, it looks like it has always been there.”

The centerpiece of the kitchen is a custom-built, 8-foot island in a modern black color, which matches the perimeter cabinets. “Even though the cabinets are black, the kitchen is very bright. We added a new window over the sink and another one off to the side above the coffee bar/buffet cabinets, so the natural light streams in,” Josh notes. “We incorporated the homeowner’s existing white appliances and mixed in new, brownish-gray luxury vinyl plank floors and new quartz countertops.”

And for that extra wow factor, Kaye used natural slate backsplash tiles that pull it all together.

“Cabinet manufacturers are offering more painted cabinets in hues of black, blue and green that add more personality to a space,” Josh notes. “If you are not ready to dive in to more color and wood, try mixing colors or wood stains.”

Kaye added a new window over the sink and another one off to the side above the coffee bar/buffet cabinets, so the natural light streams in.

Kaye Construction partners with another family business—Crystal Cabinet Works in Minnesota—to offer affordable, custom-made cabinets built in America with expert workmanship.

The company also just finished a bathroom remodel in Middleburg Heights that converted a space that was not functioning well into an awesome primary bathroom suite.

“We took space from one of the closets in the bedroom and used that square footage to double the bathroom size,” Josh says. “We tiled the new shower with large-format tiles. They not only make the room appear larger, but they are also low maintenance since there are not as many grout lines to clean like you do with subway tiles and other smaller, more intricate tiles.”

This remodel checked all the trends: large-format tile, a vanity tower with concealed outlet, and quartz countertops.

At Kaye Construction, Josh, Joe and Ron are all experienced remodelers and handle everything from the ground up. And while they are well versed in the latest trends, their goal is to make every space timeless.

“You will find the three of us working side by side on every project,” Josh says. “Unlike bigger home improvement companies, where you never meet the owners, we oversee each job personally.

“The possibilities are endless when it come to ways to renovate your home and enhance your living spaces,” Josh says. “If you are thinking about remodeling this year, now is the time to contact us to start working on the design so we are ready when the weather breaks and you can get on our schedule this summer.”
