Whether it’s a one-room makeover, a whole-home redesign or tackling specific home decor quandaries such as how to dress a bare mantel or how to make a tiny kitchen look and feel more spacious, Westlake’s poshest furniture and home decor store—Consign Home Couture—offers free interior design service to help you make the best choices.

“We ask people to bring in pictures and measurements of their rooms so they can sit down with us for a consultation,” says founder/owner Susan Brown.

“From there we suggest pieces to balance a room and make it uniquely theirs.”

And with 6,500-plus square feet of shopping elegance, including soaring display walls of artwork and mirrors galore, as well as room vignettes spanning a wide variety of tastes, there’s plenty to choose from.

Name-Dropping
For Susan, quality is king and she’s highly selective about the pieces in her shop.

Well-known brands include Ethan Allen, Henredon, Thomasville, Drexel Heritage, Bernhardt, Century and Maitland-Smith to name a few.

But, she cautions, what’s there today will probably be gone tomorrow. Two-thirds of her inventory is sold within the first 30 days.

“We have many shoppers who stop in daily,” she notes. “With more than 3,100 consignors, there are always new arrivals.”

Details, Details, Details
Like any good decorator knows, great design is in the details and there are so many here, from lamps and chandeliers to vases, candlesticks, dining and kitchen servingware, collectibles and more.

“People comment that we have one of the largest selections in the area of Lladros and Waterford. And we offer beautiful and hard-to-find Herend china figurines from Hungary,” Susan says.

The shop keeps an expansive inventory of rugs in many sizes, from Oriental and Persian to traditional and modern prints, in silk, wool and sisal. Consign Home displays an abundance of designer handbags, jewelry and giftware making it a wonderful one-stop store for holiday shopping.
