Coverage for hospital stays

If you’ve spent any amount of time in the hospital, you know how quickly expenses can start to add up. But what if you already had a budget-friendly way to help with the out-of-pocket costs not covered by medical insurance in place?
Most major medical insurance plans only pay a portion of hospital expenses, which may leave you with out-of-pocket expenses like a deductible or coinsurance, or even things your medical insurance doesn’t cover.
There is a way to be prepared with supplemental plans, which pay a cash benefit amount to help with out-of-pocket expenses.
You can access this benefit if you’re hospitalized for covered services.
The cash benefit can be used for your deductible, co-pay, prescriptions, care costs and everyday living expenses. Some plans offer no waiting period to use the benefit.
The beauty of a supplemental hospital insurance plan is that you can customize it to fit your individual needs. Some plans enable you to add riders that cover special circumstances outside of a hospital stay.
