Cannabidiol (CBD) can be a life-changing ingredient for the people who take it. Domestic sales of CBD/hemp oil products reached $238 million in 2018, an increase of 57% from 2017, according to Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ). Researchers predict a 36% growth rate over the next four years. Why? Because CBD works.

And while research is ongoing, over the last few years it is the use of CBD that is starting to take center stage. CBD from hemp has a very low level of THC (0.3%) the psychotropic ingredient that is found in marijuana that makes people feel high.

“We are seeing a huge increase in the sale of CBD products,” says Cathy Conlon, owner of Acorn Vitamins, the budget friendly health store located just a few minutes south of Route 18 in Copley.

“We have been selling CBD for over two years now, and our customers are coming in looking for more information and a generous variety of CBD products that we provide. We give them something they cannot get online: Extensive knowledge about CBD and the companies that make it,” Cathy says.

“We screen the companies whose products we carry for full traceability back to the fields, third party testing, quality control procedures, extraction processes and adhering to specific labeling requirements. We’ve done the work for you.”

A vitally important element to taking CBD is ensuring the type you choose comes from a reliable source.

“One lady came in and told me CBD did not work for her. I asked where she bought it and she said the gas station down the street,” Cathy says. “Don’t throw your money away on these products. We only carry products from reputable companies, so you can feel confident that what you are buying from us is the absolute best available.”

“We have customers visit us to purchase CBD for many different and unique health concerns, with chronic pain and inflammation being at the top of the list followed by anxiety, depression and PTSD,” Cathy shares. “Others have used it for psychiatric disorders, seizures and more. CBD from hemp is the most effective.”

As we age, the endocannabinoid system in our bodies may start to breakdown due to lifestyle, accidents and just life in general, which creates pain. A full-spectrum CBD contains everything necessary to rebuild the endocannabinoid system, restore balance and reduce inflammation, which automatically reduces pain. It is excellent for relieving pain in the knees, joints and muscles. It is also great for headaches, anxiety and stress.

At Acorn Vitamins, CBD can be found in several different products, like patches, gummies, breath spray, chocolate, tea and even bottled water. These are in addition to the tinctures, sprays, capsules, soft gels and vape products. “We carry the top brands in the country, including two Ohio companies—Clean Remedies and Queen City Hemp,” she notes.

Cathy says the people who visit Acorn Vitamins come from all walks of life and are navigating through all types of mental and physical ailments. You can get a complete list of uses for CBD when you visit the store, which is where you will find over a dozen brands and forms of CBD.

“We can pinpoint during a conversation what strength will work faster for you,” Cathy shares. “Our philosophy is to educate. We try to help people understand what they are buying so they can get the most benefit from it.”
