What happens when you’ve retired or left your job but are too young to go on Medicare? For many people, this is the time when finding an affordable healthcare option comes into play.

The good news is there is a way to maintain your health coverage. For many people, short-term insurance can be a perfect solution. Previously only available for three months at a time, short-term coverage is now available for up to 364 days. On the 365th day, you’ll need to reapply.

Short-term coverage tends to be available at a lower cost because underwriting questions are asked and pre-existing conditions are typically not covered. Short-term coverage may not cover preventative care or maternity expenses.

On the upside, short-term coverage allows you to go out of network, and things like emergency visits are covered. You can also choose between different hospitals. It can be a perfect option for those who travel or want more medical flexibility.

Give me a call to find out if short-term coverage is a good option for you. And, as always, my guidance is free of charge.
