Mastering the science of hearing

Audiologist Joe Baker’s number one goal is to optimize his patients’ quality of hearing to help them live longer and healthier lives. As founder of Hearing Science, he treats the patient as a whole, through best audiology practices, high-tech diagnostics and hearing aids.

With the latest digitally integrated diagnostic tools—including a state-of-the-art sound booth—Joe makes thorough diagnoses and treatment plans. He uses evidence-based methods to maximize his patients’ benefit from hearing devices.

Fitting each hearing aid to the patient
Like a fingerprint, every ear canal is unique. Each small hearing aid functions uniquely within the ear, so getting the perfect fit is everything! Utilizing REM (real ear measurements), Joe uses miniaturized probe microphones to make sure the hearing aid is providing the best level of amplification for your unique hearing profile.

Leading technology from leading manufacturers
Joe works with top manufacturers to provide a range of the best hearing aids on the market. Each model has its own functionality as well as price points. New aids to the market contain their own computer chip and can be digitally and remotely adjusted.

Manufacturers include:
• Oticon
• Phonak
• Resound
• Signia
• Unitron
• Widex
• Westone
• Microsonic

Another widespread condition treated at Hearing Science is Tinnitus, a buzzing or ringing in the ears. As a sufferer himself, Joe is sympathetic to what it feels like. Because tinnitus is most often a symptom of another underlying condition, there is no single treatment to manage it. Joe works with different treatments, depending on your needs, to lessen its impact on your daily living.

Joe also makes “house calls” to senior care facilities in the area, offering periodic complimentary clean and checks.
