The time has come at Kingfish Seafood in Copley to celebrate “The Maine Event.” The crème de la crème of sweet, succulent lobster is plucked from cold Atlantic Depths at the peak of the season then rushed to the Montrose “Restaurant Hill” destination for true crustacean lovers.

“We will fly in more than 4,000 pounds of fresh lobster for the event,” says Hospitality Restaurants (HR) Culinary Director, Chef Marc Standen who oversees kitchen operations for the company’s eight fine dining locations, including seafood stalwarts Kingfish, Salmon Dave’s and the nationally acclaimed Blue Point Grille in Downtown Cleveland.

The Maine Event celebration has been a fixture at Salmon Dave’s in Rocky River for two decades, heralded as the most popular New England-style lobster bake in Cleveland.

“We’ve been so popular with this event for over 20 years, we decided to bring the excitement to our friends in the Akron market,” says George Schindler, president of HR.

“Combine the freshest lobster money can buy with terrific service and it’s no wonder we’ve been packed on Sundays for decades.”

The signature meal of the celebration presents lobster just like they do back in Maine. Served in a huge cast iron skillet, the New England Style Lobster Bake includes a whole Maine Lobster with roasted chicken, steamed clams, redskin potatoes and fresh corn on the cob. Served for $39.95 daily, the deal gets crazy good each Sunday, when the bake is discounted $15 to just to $24.95.

Live Lobster is not only the “Maine Event.” It also accents a variety of signature creations from the talented Kingfish culinary team.

Leading the charge on a day-to-day basis at Kingfish is Chef Anthony “TJ” Armstrong, who previously created a reputation for wowing diners with his daily specials at Blue Point Grille, HR’s flagship seafood outpost in Downtown Cleveland.

“His deft touch with fresh seafood is simply amazing. We’re excited to now have TJ running Kingfish,” says Chef Standen.

Seasonal favorites highlighting the menu include the lobster crusted Day Boat Cod. Decades of HR fans also rave about the signature Lobster Bisque, an award-winning favorite that has been featured in Bon Appetit Magazine.

“Reservations are essential to get in on Sunday for this promotion. We open at 1:00 p.m. each Sunday, and the books fill up fast,” says George.

“Sundays are already bustling with our all-day happy hour in the bar, so we’re definitely geared up for our busiest season.”

“Kingfish was born from the continued success of Salmon Dave’s and Blue Point Grille,” ruminates George.

“Our obsession with serving the freshest, most pristine seafood has proven successful for over 20 years. Bringing this same culinary expertise to the Akron market with Chef Standen’s talented team earned us Akron Life Magazine’s award as Best New Restaurant last year.”
