“I’m going to start spring cleaning my house today. And by cleaning, I mean drinking wine and spraying everything with Febreze.” —As seen on Pinterest

There’s a popular ad where a home’s welcome mat is reversed so when you open the door from the inside, you are “welcomed” into the great outdoors.

It reminds me of so many of us this time of year. It’s time to venture outdoors into our yards to watch the miracle of spring renewal once again. No matter how many times you have seen it, each time is as breathtaking and joy filled as the first. Just close your eyes and listen to the sounds of birds that have been absent for months, water trickling as the last of the snow melts away and the sounds of the world coming alive. When you smell it, it is the freshest, cleanest scent you will likely ever experience. My mother used to call that scent, “The first breath of spring.”

Mom loved spring. She was a little lady of French extraction. She loved walks in the countryside and picking spring flowers. Indoors, no one enjoyed a clean house quite like her, especially when someone else was doing the cleaning.

She would have really appreciated The Maids, where one simple call summons a team to do a remarkably thorough spring cleaning. Or, your call can begin a regular cleaning of your home that allows you the much-needed time to enjoy the spring weather for yourself or, better yet, with your family.

Consider how much easier your life would be without packing the drudgery of cleaning into the precious little free time you have. But don’t just take my word for it. This is what Christina V. had to say four months ago in a five-star Google review of The Maids.

“Service is fantastic. We have tried a few local companies recommended by friends and neighbors but none compare to The Maids. The central organization and all of the employees we’ve interacted with are highly professional, very organized, and so accommodating. The cleaning is simply the best I have had anywhere—consistent, detailed, and very thorough. It’s wonderful to come home and discover that the floors, kitchen and bathroom are spotless, the sides of my furniture have been vacuumed, the light switches are clean, and even my son’s bath toys are perfect. Payment is simple and scheduling has been very straightforward. We will definitely be long-term customers!”

I suppose it would be appropriate to mention that The Maids here in Northeast Ohio enjoys a lofty 4.8 rating on Google with 83 local reviews.
As impressive as Christina’s review is, I think the response from Michael Manhoff, the owner of The Maids here in our area, is impressive as well.

“Hi Christina, and thank you for taking the time to write this terrific review. Your feedback on our service is crucial for us, as we’re always looking for ways to better our business. We’re thrilled to see how much you appreciate the hard work of our maids. They really do try to go the extra mile with each and every cleaning. But it doesn’t stop with the first service. We will constantly try to out-do ourselves so that your family can feel not only at ease in your home, but impressed as well. We look forward to our next visit.”

That reply is classic Mike Manhoff. Mike prides himself on creating and nurturing a “culture of caring.”

“When I first began this organization, I envisioned a service company where in order to get to the bottom of who we are, you have to appreciate what we are not,” he says.

“We did a lot of studying and polling. What we found was that for most people, employing a maid service on a regular basis or even just one time creates some form of disappointment.”

The most common disappointments people experience with other residential cleaning services are:

  • The team didn’t show up
  • No one called to say they would be late or not coming
  • They don’t do as good a job as when they first started cleaning
  • The employees seem a bit unsavory and don’t appear to be trustworthy

“We have an inside staff that monitors the progress of each of our teams,” Mike says.

“If they are running a bit over, we make certain all remaining clients scheduled for that team are notified that we may be late. We also pride ourselves on our consistency. Nothing less than a thorough clean of our customer’s homes is acceptable each and every time we visit.”

“We do exhaustive background checks,” he adds.

“Every employee must be someone we would trust in our own homes. If not, we will not hire them no matter how badly we need to add employees. That’s why we are constantly looking for new employees. We are growing and we always make certain we have our pipeline filled with quality people. Half of our customers give us their garage door codes and allow us to clean while they are at work.”

I’m sure you must think such quality work couldn’t be affordable. A month ago, Therese P. had this to say in her five-star review.

“My team does an excellent job. They are very reliable and they always communicate accurate arrival times. I highly recommend The Maids. I’ve had another service in the past and The Maids are far more thorough at a very competitive rate.”

So get out there and enjoy this beautiful spring. If you don’t think you’ll have time, you might want to give The Maids a call.
