“Nowadays, folks are investing their recreational dollars on their exteriors,” says General Manager Josh Riley. “Landscaping is becoming more extensive, and patios are getting more elaborate, featuring elements you’d find indoors such as televisions.”

“Patios are becoming more like living rooms,” says Josh. “With outdoor kitchens that include cooking, eating and serving areas, as well as a refrigerator, you almost don’t need to bother going indoors to the kitchen.”
Everyone still wants fire pits, he reports, and water features and outdoor televisions are also becoming popular.
“People go one of two ways with their patio. They want the biggest area to entertain the most people and they want the patio to be seen from the street and other backyards to welcome their neighbors, or they choose a more intimate space to celebrate dinners with family, and plenty of trees surrounding it to provide privacy and seclusion,” he notes.
Whichever you prefer, Peters makes sure it’s built to last. As an Authorized Unilock Contractor, they only work with the best quality pavers that come with a lifetime warranty on parts and a five-year warranty on labor. They also build traditional decks with pressure-treated wood or composite material.
Last year, Peters introduced Weaver sheds and barns to the area, and they were a big hit. Several of the Amish-crafted sheds are showcased on the lot, from simple garden sheds to barns, and people can customize their structure by adding doors, windows, window boxes, cupolas, lofts and more.
“Our most popular style is the Timber Ridge Pavilion,” says Josh. “Made from rough-sawn solid pine timbers and an iron roof, it acts as an architectural focal point and gathering space in any yard.”
What’s the Professional Difference?
Josh says there is a visual difference between a yard that’s cared for by the homeowner and one that’s professionally maintained.
“This month we are installing new lawns and resurrecting existing ones,” he says. “We can troubleshoot issues and bring out your lawn’s best, whether it’s diagnosing and treating grubs, or applying special shade seed to grow grass in shaded areas.”
For landscape design consultations, Chris or Josh sit down with clients and discuss their likes and dislikes, then customize each job.
“Some people love butterflies, or hummingbirds, and there are specific plants that attract them,” he says. “And deer are a problem for many homeowners. So for them we stick with deer-resistant flowers, such as daffodils, Russian sage or coneflowers.”
The goal is to orchestrate an eye-appealing grouping of flowers and plants that will produce a continuous bloom from spring to fall. Peters blends the most vibrant colors, with varying heights and textures.
