Thanks to a red-hot, fashion-forward formula, Danielle Romstadt has recently expanded her wildly popular Madelyn Rose Boutique to include a new jeans department called the Denim Casual Room, a meeting room and a craft room for parties, events or girls’ nights out.

“We already throw jewelry-making, wine glass-making and shopping parties,” says Danielle.

“As soon as I found out we could take over the space next door, I started designing the rooms. With a rustic 12-foot meeting table, the meeting room holds up to 14 and can be rented for a half or whole day. And the craft room is filled with anything you’d need to make jewelry (from tools to supplies and charms), paint wine glasses or create scarves.”

Walk in Strangers, Leave as Friends
There’s a connective sort of magic cast on ladies who shop at Madelyn Rose. Within no time of walking in the door, you get to know other shoppers trying on different looks. It’s an intentionally addictive experience. They want you to slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee. Hang out and enjoy it.

“We love spending time with our clients, putting together outfits that will look terrific on them,” says Danielle. “Fashion is all about confidence. If you don’t feel great in your clothes, you won’t look great either. Your outfit should make you feel happy.”

In addition to boutique lines of stylish shirts, jackets, jeans, pants, dresses, rompers and shorts, the shop carries one-of-a-kind jewelry, quirky socks, scarves, hats, shoes, handbags, spa products and other must-have accessories.

Summer Trendcast: Stripes, Florals and Jumpsuits
Danielle has her finger firmly on the pulse point of which styles will work on her clients.

“It’s important for me to know that the clothing that I sell will wash well, wear well and live up to my expectations. When I bring in a line of denim, I don’t endorse it until I have worn it, lived in it and absolutely love it.”

She’s also adept at getting ladies to rethink their wardrobing preconceptions.

For example, when she mentioned what a hot trend palazzo pants are right now, and specifically a certain style they can’t keep enough in stock of from the Mystree line out of Los Angeles, I made a comment that you really need to be tall to pull those off. (I’m average height, a hair shy of five-foot-six inches, and would never, ever, ever consider wearing palazzo pants.)

But they laughed at my skepticism and encouraged me to try them on.

Shockingly, they draped beautifully and lent an elegant silhouette. I was hooked and went home with them.

Celebrating Local Artists
Graphic tees are the spotlight of the Denim Casual Room. Danielle explains that Sam Fozio, Innovator and Store Manager of Royalton Gifts, creates tees by drawing on a chalkboard, then taking a high-resolution photo of it and transferring it to the shirts.

“Our tee shirts are of the highest quality cotton for a sumptuous feel and durability,” she explains. “And we stick with positive sentiments, such as ‘Be Kind.’”

Heavenly Shades
Danielle is ever on the lookout for the next best thing. She’s thrilled to introduce the Monarchy line of sunglasses to the area.

“The company is based in Cleveland and the styles are handmade in Italy,” she says. “I was drawn to the line because of the impeccable craftsmanship and elegant styles.”

Though she loves new items, Danielle is also a master up-cycler. She created a department within the boutique called Maddie’s Closet that features pre-loved fashions.

“Although we’ve stopped doing consignment, I feel there’s still a place for resale and upscale upcycled clothing,” she says. “If someone has a few beautiful pieces they’d like to sell, they can just take a picture and text or email it to me instead of bringing anything in.”
