A crew of hundreds of volunteers, thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands in donation dollars brought to life the 25th Annual 2018 Lake County YMCA Dream House. And it all came down to one turn of the golden key to see whose dreams came true.

On Sunday, August 12, Dave Coyne of Mentor turned the winning key that unlocked the front door to the over $500,000 Dream House. He says he’s been going to the YMCA for the past 16 years and buying tickets for the past 10. This year was the charm.

Another lucky ticket holder, Eugene Norris of Akron, drove away in a beautiful 2018 Chevy Equinox LS provided by Northeast Ohio Chevy Dealer and Classic Chevrolet in Mentor.

According to YMCA Director of Marketing and Communications Dave Saifman, in terms of the dollar amount in ticket sales, this year’s event officially raised the highest ever, surpassing last year’s of more than $1 million.

“We are thrilled with the outstanding turnout for our 25th anniversary year,” he says. “And I have to say that this home was the best ever, too. There were so many special surprises. Everywhere you looked there was something unique that held you in awe. Our talented team and sponsors really stepped things up and we are so grateful.”
