Imagine your kids come in from playing outside. As they’re cleaning up, you notice an odd mark on your youngest’s upper arm. It almost looks like a target.

When it doesn’t go away, you take him to your primary care physician, who tells you he has Lyme Disease. But don’t worry, he or she is going to put your son on antibiotics that might help. He also might have to endure symptoms of Lyme Disease for the rest of his life.

According to Dr. Alphonzo Monzo, the naturopathic doctor at Whole Body Health in Medina, “Lyme disease is an inflammation disease that is caused by bacteria. Common signs or symptoms of Lyme can include, but are not limited to, rashes in the shape of a bullseye, fever, chills, unexplained pain, stiff or swollen joints, night sweats and sleep issues, sensitivity to light, mood changes and cognitive decline.”

“People are more susceptible to contracting Lyme Disease if they already have a weakened immune system from something such as mono or the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV),” Dr. Monzo continues.

At Whole Body Health, Dr. Monzo runs a frequency scan (since everything has its own frequency, and the body remembers its past traumas or illnesses) for EBV and all the different Lyme bacteria and co-infections to determine if the patient has Lyme Disease or just the Lyme bacteria.

Although Lyme can be difficult to overcome, the clinic has had past success in helping people get well.

When asked what has led to that success, Dr. Monzo responded,

“Mainly due to the unique approach we take. Not only is our testing different, but we use natural remedies to boost the immune system, kill Lyme bacteria, the virus and co-infections, instead of antibiotics, which kill everything including your immune system. Often antibiotics don’t kill the Lyme bacteria, which makes things worse.”
