The City of Green has partnered with Hattie Larlham, the non-profit disability service organization that provides care and support to children and adults throughout Ohio, and is happy to be supporting their Constant Companions program again this summer.

“We started this partnership back in 2019 but had to stop due to Covid-19,” says Constant Companions manager, Shireen Comeriato. “Our program participants are so happy to be back and working the Splash Pad concession stand at Central Park.”

Constant Companions is Hattie Larlham’s adult day support program offering seven locations to choose from. A unique component of Constant Companions is the element of volunteerism.

“At Constant Companions our focus is on community integration and engagement. We do that every day here through field trips and volunteering in the community,” says Shireen. “We have volunteered with organizations like Toys for Tots and other toy collection drives, many local charities and police and fire department activities. These opportunities along with daily community outings to lunch, shopping trips and other excursions fill their days and provide participants with a sense of community and belonging.”

The Splash Pad is located at Central Park in Green and Constant Companions is operating the concession stand every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“The city has allowed us to keep the profits made during our working hours which enables us to pay for some fun things like pizza parties,” says Shireen. “This is just one more way we have been embraced by the Green community and we are grateful for that. Stop by and see us.”
