Wearing sunscreen year-round—especially during summer’s intense rays—is the best way to protect your skin. However, that is just one thing you can do to keep your skin healthy.

Kathy Dyczko, an esthetician at Cory’s Hair Studio & Day Spa, offers these skin care tips to keep your skin glowing throughout the warmer months:

Keep skin clean so it can breathe easy.
In addition to washing your skin at home with water and a cleanser to remove dirt and grime, a facial elevates your skin care regimen.

“The new Aqua Facial extracts, exfoliates and infuses all in one treatment,” says Kathy. “Each facial infuses different serums, such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid or peptides, depending on the client’s skin.”

Also ideal for summer, the Oxygen Facial’s refreshing, cool mist infuses your skin with a blend of vitamins, botanicals, minerals and enzymes using highly concentrated and pressurized oxygen molecules. “Oxygen is the oldest form of healing, so it is a great anti-aging treatment,” notes Kathy.

Use a clarifying toner or rice paper to remove excess oil.
We sweat more in the summer and our complexion gets shiny, so choose a product that will blot excess oil.

Hydrate your skin by drinking water.
To help your skin from the inside out, drink plenty of water, which helps maintain its elasticity.

Reapply sunscreen every couple of hours when outdoors.
“Many of us put on sunscreen before we head outside, but forget to reapply,” says Kathy. “Make sure to reapply every couple of hours.”

It doesn’t matter if you are using a 30 SPF or 90 SPF, as you still need to reapply just as often when using a higher SPF.

For an all-natural option, try Ayur-medic sunscreen. In addition to offering sun protection, this micro-fine zinc sunscreen has a sheer tint of color.

Wear a hat.
Blend fashion and well-being by donning a wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap when outdoors. It also shades your eyes so you don’t squint, resulting in fewer wrinkles.
