Homeowners put kitchen and master bathroom renovations at top of their redo lists for good reason. When it comes to return on investment, they provide beaucoup bang for the buck and represent our most lived-in living spaces.

And though the kitchen may be the heart of the home, a luxurious master bath surely acts as an everyday peaceful retreat.

“The creation of spa-like master baths has skyrocketed over the past decade,” says Shawn Rosa, sales manager at Guhde Flooring America. “Showers are getting bigger and more elaborate, with high-end tiles and features.”

He says they are one of the only stores in the area that is Schluter certified on the install of the exclusive Schluter Shower System. The line offers a high degree of customization in design as well as 100 percent waterproof efficiency.

“We are able to fit Schluter’s Kerdi line drain anywhere from a central four-inch square drain up to a more modern 72-inch drain,” he says.

Barrier-free and curbless showers are trending now, he reports, as they open up the room and make it appear larger. To keep the water in the shower area, floors are gently pitched toward the drain.

“Clients are also looking to add more organic elements such as river rock pebbles, natural stones, wood-look tile floors and walls or teak seating within the shower,” he says. “With ceramic tiles that mimic the look of wood, the design opportunities are endless.”
