Kat Khamvongsouk is a beauty expert.
Not only is she stunning to look at, but Kat also brings a natural understanding of what makes a woman lovelier to her Kat Lotus Beauty Lounge in Medina—and graciously shares it with her clients.

“I love helping my clients look and feel more beautiful and I’m constantly searching for ways to enhance what we’re doing here by offering more distinctive services,” she says.
“I’m not trying to compete with the local salons. There are plenty of places around here that do hair. But I want to take our beauty offerings a step beyond what you can find in a salon and do those things really well.”
That’s why she’s just put the finishing touches on an expansion that takes the cute-as-a-button nail salon to the next level.
Kat and her team broke down a wall between her space and the one next door, then outfitted it in the same glam-mod style to include styling chairs and a makeup station. There’s a wall with backdrop for impromptu photo sessions and selfies as well as a boutique area packed with take-home products like lashes, bath bombs, jewelry and more.

Kat launched her beauty lounge in 2013 with a focus on offering natural nail services, which is why she doesn’t do acrylic nails but does offer Shellac and the red-hot-right-now dipping powder for nail enhancement. A manicure is just $20, which makes it easy to score a perfect 10 whenever you need one.
Lash extensions are one of the best ways to stay beautiful morning, noon and night—without any fuss. Kat prefers synthetic lashes over mink because they look more natural and stay on better, but she does offer both. And to complete the look, she can microblade in a gorgeous set of brows to kick your confidence up a notch.
“I love helping women discover their beauty,” she smiles. “We specialize in helping to make getting and staying gorgeous effortless.”
That’s why Kat added hair extensions and blowouts to the beauty bar menu. “Blowouts are becoming a wildly popular way to cut down on styling time while amping up a person’s look,” she suggests.
