When Chad Gibson arrived as the new general manager in March 2017, Bunker Hill Golf Course offered an ideal venue to match Chad’s knack for hosting successful fundraisers and other special events.

Now, it’s even more versatile, Chad insists.

That’s because a summer renovation project has significantly expanded the seating capacity of Bunker’s Grill restaurant from 80 to 130 people. The enlarged room provides yet another party option to consider, along with Bunker Hill’s outdoor patio, its upper deck, its spacious pavilion and its energetic Sim Room, which features the area’s most technically advanced digital golf simulation machines.

“We were able to significantly increase our restaurant space by removing the mammoth bar that took up so much of the room,” Chad says. “We replaced it with a less intrusive bar that really opens the place up. That has minimized the restrictions on the number of guests we can accommodate for weddings, showers and other parties and special events.”

Such as Bunker Hill’s popular fall clam bakes, for example.

The clam bakes will be served to the public on Friday nights in September and October, and also will be available for private functions. They include half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, clam chowder, plus a choice of clams, shrimp or steak.

“Not everybody like clams, but everybody loves to go to a clam bake,” Chad observes. “We can do them indoors or outdoors.”

The pavilion, Chad adds, is one of Bunker Hill’s most popular clam bake venues because it gives people the chance to spread out and enjoy the fresh air.

The pavilion is convenient for social distancing. The Bunker’s Grill staff plates all the food and serves it to the guests.

Like other events at Bunker Hill, Chad promises to make your private clam bake simple and hassle-free to plan and organize.

“We build a custom website for each event where guests can register and choose whether they want the clams, shrimp or steak,” he says. “The host will be able to capture their guests’ phone numbers, email and other information for easy contact and follow-up.”

The Bunker Hill team also creates a Facebook event page and handles the set-up, registration, decorations and clean-up.

“Events from 20 to 40 people can be done on our upper deck, anywhere between 40 to 80 people could go on the lower patio, anywhere between 60 to 130 we’ll be able to do inside the banquet room, and anywhere between 70 to 150 can be done at the pavilion,” Chad says. “The pavilion is convenient for social distancing. We put up to eight people at picnic tables that are spaced 12 feet apart. Our staff plates all the food and serves it to the guests.”

Bunker Hill offers events for a wide range of budgets, from hot dogs to steak, Chad emphasizes.

Bunker Hill offers events for a wide range of budgets, from hot dogs to steak.

“You might want something as simple as hot dogs, cheeseburgers, french fries, mac and cheese and pizza for around $15 per person, or a more elaborate filet dinner with top notch appetizers for around the $40 range, or anything in between,” he says.

Along with the indoor renovations, Bunker Hill also has invested in course and landscaping improvements,” Chad notes.

“We’ve been recognized as one of the best courses in the county for several years, and we decided to take it up another notch,” he says.

Bunker’s Grill is open to the public, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
